@acajacques@FortySacks Parizeau had a personal admiration for the queen and monarchy as a whole. Its well documented. During a string of independence-based protests he actually specifically asked that protesters refrain from attacking the monarchy directly or queen personally.
@acajacques@FortySacks Many anglophones in Quebec dont have a huge attachment to the monarchy either. Should also be reminded that the most anglophilic and monarchy-loving, premier in QC history, Parizeau, was a separatist. The monarchy is outdated but the effort involved to remove it is a waste.
@davidfindlaymus Ya feels like a minority gov got elected with 28% of the vote and zero enthusiasm. So ya it should feel different because in 80 and 95 there was a big, organic movement behind it.
@JFLisee Thank you for proving that you can, in-fact continue to say dumber and dumber shit as you age. I sure hope you still dont consider yourself an intellectual.
@realist800@jgme2021@metr0politics All you need to do is look at the stats to see that the vast majority of immigrants are not separatists and this has been the case for decades. But you can keep dreaming.
