#ウルトラマンA50周年
Today is the anniversary of the last episode of #ウルトラマンエース#UltramanAce! I'm glad I could celebrate a year of Ace with everyone. 💖 Please watch over us for another 50 years, Ace! ✨
The "Neutrals" and other ships can stamp their feet and scream "CA isn't the story" but it really is.
Cloud rescues Aerith from Shinra and sets things in motion. Everything post Shinra happens purely because Cloud decided he has a say and he chose Aerith.
THAT. Is the story.
The more I think about it, the harder time I have separating Cloud and Aerith's relationship from the main narrative of the story.
When we talk about bonds, we're mostly talking about their bond. When talking about grief and loss, we're talking about Cloud losing Aerith. When talking about self-discovery, it's Aerith who pulls Cloud towards finding himself rather than deluding himself to believe he's a SOLDIER hero.
When we talk about a "Revelation," Cloud's final revelatory moment in OG is wanting to meet Aerith again in the Promised Land.
It feels like when we tap dance around this topic in order to avoid "shipping," we're deliberately avoiding the driving force of the protagonist and the deuteragonist.
Were you able to tell the differences between Taro and Seven?
