How to File a Complaint Against a Bank or Fintech in Nigeria and Get Your Money Back
First, be very careful with online apps offering financial services. Many of them are unreliable, and some are outright scams. Their strategy is often to frustrate you until you give up on your money.
In late 2023, during the crypto trading boom, many of us used Raven to transact on Remitano. One day, I transferred ₦1 million to my Raven account, but the money was never credited.
At first, I wasn’t too worried.
But after three days with no credit alert, I became concerned. I contacted their customer support through email, calls, Facebook, and in-app chat. Eventually, they responded, saying they were “working on it.”
Four weeks passed, nothing was resolved.
I even sent a direct message to the founder on Instagram, but he ignored me. At that point, I started wondering how I would recover my money, especially since they didn’t have a physical office I could visit.
So I drafted a formal complaint, attached all evidence of the transaction, and copied:
Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)
Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC)
Interestingly, the same company that claimed they “couldn’t trace the funds” credited my account within one hour of that email. The founder who had been ignoring my messages suddenly replied immediately.
That’s when I realized: escalation works.
What to Do If Your Bank or Financial Institution Debits You Fraudulently or Fails to Credit Your Funds:
If you find yourself in a similar situation, follow these steps:
Step 1: Report to Your Bank First
Send a formal complaint email to your bank or financial institution. Keep proof that you reported the issue.
Step 2: Escalate to the CBN
If the issue is not resolved, write a formal complaint letter addressed to:
-The Director, Consumer Protection Department
Central Bank of Nigeria
-You can submit your complaint at the CBN Head Office or any CBN branch nationwide.
-Your complaint letter should be clear and concise. Include the following:
-Your full name, address, phone number, and email
-Name of the financial institution
-Your account details (DO NOT include your PIN or passwords)
-Date and history of the disputed transaction
-The exact amount involved
-Relevant supporting documents (transaction receipts, screenshots, emails, etc.)
-Evidence that you first reported the issue to your bank
- Then send an email to your bank and copy:
Cpd@cbn. gov. ng
Contact@fccpc. gov. ng
- Don't forget to also call them out on X (this also works like magic).

A good number of men were molested as boys, and we should talk about this wickedness more often.
However, if the only time you bring this up is when a woman or girl gets raped, you are a sneaky person with no genuine intentions.
Read carefully or pass if you want:
Sometime in 2020, a meteorite blasted through the skies at 2am somewhere in the West of Nigeria, Akure, Ondo State (I witnessed it).
People on twitter argued that it was a bomb and not a meteorite. The blast was heard in Ilorin and neighboring states in the west. Benin too. People attested.
It was a bomb but no fires anywhere at the site. No burns anywhere. Just clean destruction of buildings and a HUGE crater typical of an Asteroid.
Days before this incident, Japanese Scientists announced that an asteroid was see approaching the West of Nigeria.
People on twitter were gaslighting people who witnessed it and insisted it was a bomb. Buhari wasn’t preparing for any war. No, we weren’t at war.
Professors of Geography & Meterorology were brought with their team to examine the crater and they confirmed after many tests and examinations that it was indeed a meteorite and the materials it brought along were very rare metals and minerals NOT of earth but also of potentially HUGE financial value and economic impact.
Government thanked them and paid some influencers to continue the gaslighting. I remember one Doctor influencer back then. Very loud and ignorant. Was at the forefront of this embarrassing stupidity and shameful show of illiteracy.
People the busied themselves on here, fighting and blocking eachother over bombs and war while the government quietly wiped that crater CLEAN of all the minerals and materials. Carted away and we heard NOTHING about it till today. They went back to dragging feminists 2 days after. The rest is history.
This is how stupid we are as a collectivity and this is why Tinubu is President today.
Me: I burnt my boyfriend’s clothes, and destroyed his car, I also used all the money in his credit card!

I went to give my school officer my wedding invitation.
She has been married twice. Divorced twice. And now she’s openly dating a married man.
She didn’t just congratulate me.
She had notes.
She looked at my invitation, smiled slowly, and said,
“Let me advise you.”
1. Never start buying things for the house with your own money. The day you start, it becomes your duty forever.
2. Your money is your money.
3. Your husband’s money is for the family.
4. Don’t ever join funds with your husband to buy property. Buy yours separately.
5. You are the one who decides how many children to have, not your husband.
6. Are you changing your surname?” I said yes. She shook her head. “No need. What do you need his name for? Keep your father’s name.
7. And one more thing… your mother-in-law is not your mother, she is not yours friend. Don't be too open.
I just smiled and said, “Thank you, ma.”
But as I walked away, I kept wondering…
Was that wisdom speaking?
Or wounds talking?
@thefrank_effect@NextNigeriaPre Happened to me with my trustfund at 19. I didn’t know what to do, I started helping people. Nobody prepared me for it at all. Made so many mistakes mehn, don’t know if I’d even get the chance again.

Omega Power Ministries (OPM), led by Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere in Nigeria, operates 100% free specialist hospitals, providing 24-hour services including surgeries, antenatal care, and medication to the public without any charges.
Coincidentally, this church has refused to allign with CAN.
Does it mean CAN is against the progress and healthcare of its followers?
When i see good, i call it good. Unlike you who sees black and calls it white because of blind followership.
This is actually what the future will look like. When wearable AR glasses saturate the market a whole generation will grow up only knowing reality through a mixed virtual/real spatial computing lens. It will be chaotic and stimulating. They will cherish their digital objects.
