Helsinki ha proposto a Tel Aviv un nuovo memorandum decennale sulla ricerca, lo sviluppo e gli approvvigionamenti nel settore della difesa, destinato a rimanere in vigore fino al 2034.

Non è un rapporto nuovo. Il primo memorandum risale al 2013 e finora veniva rinnovato ogni cinque anni. Ora la Finlandia ha scelto di estenderlo per dieci anni.

La cooperazione militare tra i due Paesi è già notevole.

Nel novembre 2023 Helsinki ha acquistato per 317 milioni di euro il sistema di difesa aerea David’s Sling di Rafael, sviluppato da Israele insieme agli Stati Uniti.

Tra le altre collaborazioni c’è quella tra Rafael e la finlandese Patria per integrare il sistema di protezione Trophy sui veicoli corazzati AMV XP 8x8.

La notizia del memorandum ha provocato forti critiche in Finlandia. Sofia Virta, leader della Lega Verde, ha definito l’accordo una “vergogna storica”, accusando il governo di approfondire i rapporti con Israele invece di aumentare la pressione per fermare il genocidio a Gaza.

Negli ultimi cinque giorni almeno 17 persone sono state uccise dall’IDF nella Striscia, con raid quotidiani su tende, strutture ospedaliere e campi profughi.

Dal cosiddetto cessate il fuoco a Gaza, Israele ha ucciso 1.313 persone e ne hanno ferite 4.361.

Così, mentre a Gaza madri e bambini continuano a essere massacrati, Helsinki sceglie di garantire alla cooperazione militare con Israele un orizzonte di altri dieci anni.

💢 8-year-old Palestinian girl, Tala Juma Abu Matar, was killed Sunday when a gunshot pierced her family’s tent east of Nuseirat in central Gaza, fired from Israeli cranes positioned east of the Central Governorate, according to Palestinian journalist Basem (@ basem. in.sign), who filmed the aftermath.

“She was just sleeping in my arms a moment ago,” her mother said. Video shows the girl’s body wrapped in a hospital shroud at a morgue, as her mother cradles her face and her brother leans down to kiss her forehead and weep over her.

Palestinian health officials confirmed to local media that Tala Juma Abu Matar died of wounds sustained when Israeli forces opened fire east of the Bureij refugee camp, while she was in the Nour and Huda camp near the Ain Jalut towers.

New testimonies from released Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons confirm that Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya is being slowly executed and is subjected to harsher torture than other detainees.

According to the testimonies, he is repeatedly interrogated, beaten, and humiliated in the most degrading forms. In many cases, he has been stripped naked and dogs have been used to attack him. He is forced, under torture, to repeat insults and degrading words about himself. He is suffering from constant vomiting and is being denied basic treatment.
