I've been working on a new shader language called "easl". The goal is to bring the conveniences you'd expect from a high-level language to the GPU. It's still got some rough edges, but if you're into shaders or creative coding you should check it out! More info in the thread 👇
It’s been what feels like an eternity since the last Expo art Hall on @oncyber opened its virtual doors to the public—well over a year ago. However, the collecting and curatorial work has never stopped. I see your work and I love what I’m seeing. So I’ve been quietly working on a new series of Expo Halls—now reimagined as Galleries and built on @0xDecaArt. Whether this new format becomes a long-term home remains to be seen—but in the meantime, it’s art time again.
This “new” Expo series roll out begins with a gallery that is especially close to me as a collector – Nature Made With Code:
⌨️All code-based generative art.
🌿All nature-themed.
💯Over 100 artists.
🎨Over 350 works.
The what, the why & the who:
This one began on Oncyber as a showcase of Tezos-based genart talent, but since then many artists and teams have branched out to e.g. Eth, Base & BTC —and so has this gallery. The focal point remained the same: generative art—but not the usual random splatters, dots, or lines. Neither is this a vault of obvious bluechips. Rather, this is the current result of a 3+ year long deep dive into the unknown and the non-obvious. This is generative art you want to hang on a wall – relatable and breathtaking to look at, yet living on the cutting edge of tech and what modern art has to offer. Nature Made With Code is an extensive catalog/roadmap thereof and the limitless talent behind it. As far as I am aware, it is also the largest single-collection-based representation of its kind. I won't name all of the artists whose works are represented in the gallery as the list would be far too long for an X post, but you will most certainly find many familiar names while scrolling your way through and even more names that you've never heard of but really should.
If you're new to the scene, welcome. If you're an OG, this one might just stretch your sense of what genart can be. Let’s open some Expo doors again❤️🔥

@Krever01 Thank you for this article! I've been writing business software in Scala for ten or so years, using IntelliJ IDEA and SBT. While teaching Scala to my peers I've had to constantly apologize for the quirks and difficulty of these two tools.
I believe that the vast majority of people in this country are good and generous and honest and fair – and whether they are Democrats or Republicans or independents, they want those values reflected in their politics. That’s what we’ll get with @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz – two leaders who will work every day to make your lives better.

Is there anyone anywhere who started with Functional Programming and then learned the Procedural and/or OO style and decided it's better? Every developer I've worked with that learned FP never wants to go back. (Though I've worked with a few who stubbornly refuse to learn FP)
Especially in the field of generative art, it can be difficult to explain why a particular piece or collection deserves merit. It may require understanding of the limitations of a programming language or the technical hurdles and the inventive solutions to get around them. 1/4
