@JenniferFShort @PhilGould15@60Mins I unapologetically use an alias on all social media to avoid discrimination in my professional career due to a moral, political or even pop culture view I express. Could I miss out on a job simply because I support wrong sport or team? Why even risk it? https://t.co/gF4WaplfLu
@PCFunpolice@centralNRL The quality may drop. Temporarily. But the number of 1st grade standard players will expand as more clubs are developing players and more players have exposure to 1st grade. Within a few years it’ll be just as hard to break into the NRL as now. And someone will still finish last.
@the_red_heifer Brisbane had what, 8+ teams before the Broncos? The NSWRL/ARL/NRL era threw that away for one team and now, 38 years later, 2 teams. Arguably, a 20th team should go elsewhere but it’s a stretch to reduce a 3rd Brisbane team to AFL or lack of confidence in a heartland.
@SteveMascord Surely in “NRL Europe” they’ll want the Grand Final in London regularly, if not every year? If you start from there, you’re looking at the Challenge Cup as an Origin like event, a mid-season chance to draw a big audience, at the ground and on TV. Play it at ManC or Everton.
@Ls941098645@johnnyddavidson He tried a banned tackle, hit him in the head. Irrelevant that it was head on head. The risk of head contact is why it was banned.
@ArtOfFisticuffs I consider minutes on screen the gold standard with Troughtons 3 seasons @ ~40 episodes a season or Pertwees 5 seasons @ ~25 episodes a season the minimum to establish their version of the Doctor as iconic. The modern day, 13 or less 45min episodes per season just leaves a blur.
@DeanChill@redo72JR@Peter_Fitz The power stations are at end of life, they must be replaced. It’s not just net zero, a big cost to build the next generation of electricity production must be incurred regardless. Once you accept that, only then can we start considering where renewables fit into our priorities.
@SheaONeill18@LeagueFreak The ARLC aren’t leaving the heart of Australia’s biggest city. The big wigs in government, private enterprise and the media don’t wine and dine in the suburbs. They do lunch and talk turkey. It’s no accident that both league and horse racing grew up right next door.
@WSWanderingEels@NRL Depends on exact situation. You are not allowed to lead with your head like an American footballer trying to get a helmet on the ball. That’s a penalty and a possible sin bin. Rare but it happens.
@englishsportfan@SteveMascord No one is saying that, you’re assuming it based on a misunderstanding of the meaning of country in this context. What you regard as your country (I presume Australia) simply overlaps with the indigenous concept of country, in the same way Queensland overlaps with Australia.
@SteveMascord Yes, but. I suspect PNG have taken someone’s intended spot. Either Brisbane 3 or NZ 2. Can’t blame ARLC for taking the government cash but it might mean one of the other two is kept out until we see what happens after the free money for PNG runs out in a decade. Even then…
@SteveMascord Surprised they wouldn’t rebrand. “Super League” is so generic that womens soccer seemingly has claimed most of the mind-share that the brand carries in the UK. Maybe a gradual re-branding is the plan. “Super League” to “NRL Super League” to “NRL whateva” over 3 or 4 seasons.
@jadexskywalker Perhaps true but again I point out nothing stops a future writer or showrunner reversing whatever RTD has proclaimed. Therefore, I don’t see the issue. Nothing about Davros is “changing”. At least not in any permanent way and certainly not based on anything produced to date.
@jadexskywalker I don’t get the issue. So RTD wrote a short where he depicted Davros as a grown man before his accident. Nothing stops a future writer or showrunner depicting the character at whatever age and in whatever state he wishes. After all, this is a show built around time travel.
