Tigray's Government has accused Ethiopia's federal government of carrying out a drone strike near Sheraro in Northwestern Tigray today June 6, 2026, alleging that the attack caused casualties and property damage among.
In a statement issued on June 6,2026, Tigray's government said the strike occurred in the early hours of the morning. The administration described the attack as a violation of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement and claimed that similar drone strikes had previously been conducted in various parts of Tigray, including against civilians.
The statement also accused the federal government of maintaining restrictions on budget transfers, fuel, medicines, and financial services, which it said have hindered recovery efforts and worsened humanitarian conditions in Tigray.
Expressing concern over what it described as signs of renewed military escalation, the government warned that any return to armed conflict could further destabilize Ethiopia and the wider Horn of Africa.
The administration reiterated its calls for the return of displaced persons, respect for Tigray's territorial integrity, accountability for wartime atrocities, protection of human and democratic rights, and accelerated reconstruction and recovery efforts.
In its concluding remarks, Tigray government called on the international community to closely monitor developments and take timely measures to prevent further escalation, warning that continued instability could deepen the humanitarian crisis and threaten regional security.
