Investigations remain ongoing to determine the exact cause of the collapse,establish responsibility and ascertain whether all relevant building regulations and safety standards were complied with.

PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE KISOTA ZONE BUILDING COLLAPSE – 06 JUNE 2026
Preliminary investigations have revealed the following findings:
1. The structure appears to have been constructed within the last 8 to 10 weeks & had reached the 4th floor level at the time of collapse. 1/1
Investigators have not yet established the existence of an approved building permit for the project, raising concerns that the development may have been undertaken without the requisite statutory approvals. 3/3
BREAKING: We are responding to alerts of a building collapse in Kisota zone, Kikaaya parish, Kawempe division. @NBRBug has dispatched the team to commence the investigations. Details to follow.
