@removethecaps Pieter, a sincere thank you from Kate, Mitchell and I for everything you did for #strandedaussies You're a hero in my books! The remove the caps initiative was a ray of hope to us, your guidance and friendship were a blessing. I hope we meet again soon, on friendlier shores
@GregDore2 And Taiwan is same shade - no excess deaths and did not lock its citizens/PRs & their families out of their country. Australia could have achieved same result. Taiwan launched its massive and very successful tech monitored home quarantine program in April 2020.
@ReconnectAust @Qantas Don't forget the disclaimer you needed to agree to. literally absolving the the government of everything and anything including the death of you and your family.
The Premier needs to stop playing games w the border. After 2 yrs & the highest vax rates in the world it’s incredible Western Australians are only seeing more restrictions while being locked away from the rest of the world w no plan. #wapol@LiberalsWA https://t.co/DvgjnFm84p
It's February 5 and the borders of WA are down ... 30 years from now. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ash Barty congratulates WA for rejoining the nation.
Tomorrow's front page of The West Australian #auspol
Very useful exercise. Would be good to continue this throughout Australia. We already knew of v high rate of test positivity (approx. 1 in 3 recent PCR tests in Qld were positive). This is more proof that #VaccinesWork and #COVID19Aus infection fatality rate is extremely low
It wasn't a little gift either. There were bubbles and play-doh, a lego trainset and some colouring books and crayons. A bag of toys to improve a toddler's life in quarantine
Now that I think about it, Tegan's gifts were the only presents Mitchell got that Christmas
Thank you
Tegan George is not only an excellent reporter but one of the most compassionate and generous people I know. She helped raise the awareness of #strandedaussies generally and more specifically, helped get my family home safely. We will be forever grateful https://t.co/c7Bmkw3V62
These are extraordinary claims and my heart breaks for my hard-working and talented friend Tegan, who’s been on leave from her job at the Canberra bureau, where PVO is political editor, since June last year.
An explosive write up:
@Milliganreports So sorry to see Tegan have to go through this! She was (and still is our) hero for helping to put a spotlight on our story when my family and I were #strandedAussies . Her compassionate reporting helped get us home.
In fact we have no idea how many #strandedAussies lives were lost, damaged irreparably or endangered by bilateral wilful negligence from #auspol National Cabinet. This abuse continues & WILL happen again. There’s zero political impetus from either party to bolster #HumanRights
Over past 2 years countless pregnant #strandedAussies were abandoned in countries with no entitlement to healthcare & without insurance - in a pandemic. As were terminally ill & disabled folk. Bipartisan National Cabinet got away with it because no #auslaw remedies exist #auspol
