@ericweinstein On getting off this planet, why the need for fundamental advances in physics when fusion rockets could pretty well do the trick? Of course achieving net gain fusion still needs some work, but presumably less than drastically new theoretical physics.

Does anyone know how to make matplotlib work fast? I mean, computer games had real time 3d video rendering in 1990ish. Why should it take ten seconds to plot a line?

@wolfejosh @3747S_14458E What's holding us back from increased adoption? Public opinion? Economics? Regulation? Something else? (It seems to me that if the first three were solved, heck, even just the second, that we would all be using nuclear, so I must be missing something here).
