@txgermanbre I wonder why you think this. For immediate payout you are free to distribute tax burden between partners. After turning in the joint tax declaration the married couple pays less taxes than an unmarried couple with the same incomes. These surely are advantages for married women?

1. Insurance is not bound to employer.
2. Familienversicherung will still be free if you have kids <7 years old.
3. Even above 7 yo, it would be only +2.5% additional fee for the spouse.

Millions is not realistically possible under those assumptions I would say… And yes, it only happens 2/3rds of the time in 14000, but he said ‚likely extinct‘ in that time, which is correct.
