Probably not a surprise to anyone but I am going to join many in taking a step back from the Twitter for a bit for my own sake. Not sure when or if I'll be back, and may transition over to Bluesky when I do. Until then friends, keep up the fight.
Delete this, @MAGAResource. It’s vile, fake, irresponsible, and not at all reflective of what my father would say. And you gave no thought to our family.
The people calling saying this ad is in bad taste are the same ones that throw (usually fake or misleading) pictures of dismembered fetuses around. Turnabout, as they say...
anyone who finds this ad to be in "bad taste" should consider that actual women who aren't actors in commercials have literally been killed by abortion bans
@SwannMarcus89 Same attitude as the people who oppose student debt relief or any other situation where someone gets something easier later on; if they had to suffer everyone does
There is a slightly weird mentality people seem to have w/r/t food/diet that makes them want anything that isn't "don't eat and run a bunch" fail and I can't help wonder if it isn't a slight amount of gatekeeping and/or "I suffered to be thin so everyone must!"
This is one of my weird and slightly cathartic Cassandra moments but I definitely remember being skeptical about some of his philanthropic efforts a year or so ago and being told I was shitting on the "one good streamer"
i'd vaguely heard about the US election in 2000 actually being "stolen" and i looked it up and it seems consensus is
- the entire US election came down to florida
- the difference in votes was <0.1%, not statistically significant
- polling machine had hardware issues way higher than <0.1%
- florida could have decided to actually and properly hand count the votes
- the state's highest supreme court decided to do that
- bush asked the supreme court to intervene in a state's free & independent ability to run its own elections
- the voting was exactly on partisan lines: the 5 republican judges declared bush the winner
- they cited reasoning that competes for one of the most transparently dishonest rulings of all time
- the single most comprehensive study after the fact found that if the votes had been properly counted, gore would have won
- this is not factoring in a calculated, well-documented attempt by republican governor of florida to suppress thousands of votes, in black counties for al gore, by the official US election commission
I don't exactly have the tax revenues in front of me but I would bet that Manhattan and the other blue spots represent waaaaay more of NY's tax dollars than the red areas.
In a universe where JK didn't go off the deep-end I would have enjoyed a much better, nuanced take on the American side of the Wizarding World than this got to explore.
This red button from the original security system is still by the front door. I'm going to create a big vinyl letters that say do not push. What should I make the button do when someone pushes it?
