web3 for good.

Hopeful 2027 is coming to Tampa Bay, Feb 17–18.
Two days of hands-on AI workshops for people who lead churches, ministries, nonprofits and companies.
Arrive with problems. Leave with solutions.

Prediction: In the AI age, taste will become even more important. When anyone can make anything, the big differentiator is what you choose to make.

NFTs are everything you don’t understand about computers, combined with everything you don’t understand about finance, combined with everything you don’t understand about art.
"We're living through a third knowledge revolution: printing press, then internet, now generative AI. This isn't just about faster access to information; it's about who gets to produce it and how people encounter truth."

God blesses us with technology as part of His common grace. We should see it as a means to help fulfill the Great Commission. As Luther said, we are the fingers of God—He feeds and sustains through the ordinary work of our hands. #ai
Yesterday I posted about spending nearly 6 years of my life on a technology that nobody had heard of. Today I’ll present you with our biggest dilemma:
Some people believe the best technology always wins, eventually. Others believe the best technology always loses to the solution with the best distribution.
Putting aside the first argument to focus solely on distribution. The following are things Arweave is succeeding at that I see nobody talking about:
1) It’s a layer 0 for layer 1s. Celestia, dYdX, Moonbeam, Noble, and others are using Arweave to store chain history. People are even storing Solana and Ethereum blocks too. Why? Because most blockchains don’t ship with the right incentives for nodes to store block history. And if they did, it would be *expensive.* Services now exist on top of Arweave to make this easy.

2) It’s a data pipeline for oracles. 10s of millions of transactions are uploaded each *day* as price feeds for other applications to consume through products like @redstone_defi.

3) You can make transactions on it in other currencies. Services like @ar_io_network enable you to pay in fiat or other cryptocurrencies to upload data to Arweave. This is meaningful because it solves the UX problem related to onboarding people to Arweave to store data for any reason. It’s being used too: Over 1 TB/day and growing is being uploaded to Arweave through bundles.

4) Consumer applications are coming fast. @OdyseeTeam (a YouTube competitor with millions of users) are leading the pack but games like @basejumpxyz, @StarGridBattle, and others are coming alive in real time to leverage the Arweave stack with AO. I believe consumer applications with PMF will be the biggest unlock for distribution, and we’re doubling down on some extremely out-of-the-box projects @CommunityLabs to help make it happen. Think IRL. Think IP. Think web3 invisible.
5) LLMs and agents can live inside of AO, a supercomputer built on top of Arweave. For decentralized AI to work you need a system capable of storing models, receiving prompts, and running inference. There is no place else to store a model if you want to be able to rely on it being available and accessible at any time for the next 200 years. There is no place else to receive prompts in a way that is cost effective. Your questions cost orders of magnitude more anywhere else. Running trustless LLM inference on another L1 or L2? Even if you could, I don’t know that your smart contracts act autonomously without user input…

6) You can make transactions on other chains from inside AO. You like Solana? Cool. Me too. Keep using it. From inside AO. I’m pretty excited about the liquidity coming in natively and being able to act on other chains from AO makes it even easier for that to happen. We’ll ship something soon to make this super easy for others to plug into.
Community Labs has a BD team. ARIO has a BD team. KYVE has a BD team. RedStone has a BD team. There are many more too. We’re all taking passes at B2B and B2B2C.
For B2C, our plan @CommunityLabs is to direct resources into marketing the consumer-facing products themselves. This might be a hot take here but frankly our customers aren’t the people buying tokens to speculate. We’re trying to solve genuine problems and make fun products for real people outside of this industry. The Basejump team are doing some incredible work along these lines in their community too.
All this to say that a huge amount of work is being done under the radar right now. Not even just by one team. By many.

I’m writing about this because I’m trying to find the line between narrative and substance in a world where narrative dominates the short games and substance dominates the long.
Our ecosystem and community tend to skew towards substance over narrative, for better or for worse. I believe this is better than the inverse, but there must be a way to do both. Ironically a lot of the work being done here is incredibly narrative-compatible already.
To the original question, I genuinely believe the best technology wins, eventually. I may be wrong, but maybe, just maybe, Arweave is positioned to have the best distribution too.

What am I missing? Genuinely interested in knowing what resonates with people here and where the holes are.
