I was on my Mac mini trying to use Claude Code—which I use frequently—to do a quick analysis and optimization on a Typora Markdown theme file named claude.css. Pretty straightforward task, right?
Instead, every single time I sent the analysis request, the CLI threw a 401 Unauthorized error.
Thinking it was just a typical session expiration issue, I went through the standard routine. I re-authenticated, logged back in, and tried again. Still 401. I tried logging in a total of 3 times to get this command to execute.
Then came the plot twist: right after those 3 login attempts, I received 3 separate account ban emails from Anthropic.
It looks like whatever internal server glitch was causing the initial 401 error trickled down into the security system. By trying to re-authenticate to fix their API error, the automated anti-abuse algorithms likely flagged the rapid successive logins as suspicious/malicious activity and pulled the trigger on my account.
Getting banned by an AI tool for trying to log into it has to be peak 2026 developer friction.
Has anyone else run into this aggressive auth/ban loop with Claude Code recently? And @AnthropicAI @AnthropicSupport, how do we get this false positive sorted out?

Chart comparison: BTC July 2022 vs. Now
The structure looks familiar.
Back then, everyone called it a recovery too.
I'm not predicting. I'm pattern-matching.
And the pattern says: this is a bounce, not a bull return.
