Alpha Challenge is back
No leaderboard this year, just you and the problems, each one taken from something that actually happened onchain
8 tasks and a warmup
The OP Stack has the same mechanism, where you can use depositTransaction on the OptimismPortal contract. @donnoh_eth's post is a beautiful case of using this feature to bypass the sequencer's censorship.

since i've seen a lot of bad takes regarding L2s and their censorship resistance, here's how i bypassed @soneium's sequencer and bought a banned token with a forced tx through L1 🧵
The Delayed Inbox works by sending a transaction from L1 to L2, so calldata posted on L1 gets executed on L2. It exists for censorship resistance and as an availability guarantee when the sequencer is offline.
With no leaderboard, there was no need to race the clock or hand everything to AI. So it's been a while since I could take my time like this, thinking through each problem myself and solving it step by step. (Of course, AI helped me along the way)
@hklst4r@summerfinance_ You are right. I missed an important point. The vgUSDC was effectively the attacker’s own distressed asset, and the key issue was that the Summer Fleet appears to have treated its paper value as redeemable value. Thanks for the correction. 🙏
@banteg Great analysis. I did my own analysis as well, and the DVN(0x589dEDbD617e0CBcB916A9223F4d1300c294236b) appears to have accepted valid signatures from these two currently whitelisted signers:0x5AB40527AA622960E26a171c58011de58DFA5bE9, 0x7e1879A1Fba74d8107E2E3EE42f5fea5E6500f5B
