@bertcmiller this happened to an nft project i was advising, they accidentally pointed their frontend to an address that they only had on testnet. mint started and ppl were sending eth. we figured it out and deployed a rescue contract. so yeah it happens.

@NicLazTweets that's exactly the point of the difficulty bomb, to disincentive block wars when we switch to PoS. and to make sure we do need to switch to PoS. Ethereum is in beta until that happens and that fact has remained hardcoded since the beginning -- until then we must have hard forks.

the fact that you sent a message to the chain with some address as a parameter does not mean that the private key holder(s) hear or see anything.
