Recently, the Driving Licence of my Best Half Expired. Normally I used to call our agent and then get it done in RTO. The amount used to run into thousands, but work used to get done.

This time, since we are moving towards Vikasit Bharat, and we are Digital India, I thought of renewing it Online.

I am happy to announce that from the date of applying online, we received the Driving License renewed by Post within 45 days.

Zero Middlemen. Zero Bribe. We didn't even visit the RTO. We just uploaded the documents online and paid online. I paid total of ₹456 (renewal fees + printing + home delivery)

The only extra thing we did was to file an online grievance on the portal when it was stuck in scrutiny stage for almost 20 days. The moment we filed the grievance, it moved to printing and then dispatch. So I feel there was one level where RTO would have expected me to go to office, but the grievance helped me avoid it.

I am sharing this with you all, since this reinforces the power of Digital and it makes life easy for everyone who has all the documents. Filing complaints also works.

Steps to Renew Driving Licence Online:

Visit Parivahan Sewa: Go to the official Parivahan website.

Select State from Drop Down Menu.

Navigate to Service: Click on 'Apply for DL Renewal'.

Enter Details: Input your existing DL number and date of birth to get details.

From there it is fairly simple. Once you fill the application, make sure that you make the payment. Else it won't be complete. This is very very important.

My complaint id 142238, about #jeeplife, still isn't fixed, even after I changed the dongle on my 2-month-old Compass.
The service center and Jeep customer care have been playing dodgeball since November 21, 2025.

Dongle was replaced in warranty for 2 mnth old vehicle, that too didn't work.. OEM spares r a joke

Entire area is encroached by illegal hawkers, small vehicle workshops+ dumped with garbage.
