The most moving bit of TV commentary in a long long time.
Sunil Taneja during the Penalty shoot-out of the Ind vs GBR. He started crying. Amazing amazing emotions! https://t.co/bUYXAAQBUf
For people outside Tamil Nadu, you don't understand the enormity of what happened in the state today. Nobody, not even MGR, at such a short period has got the kind of mandate which Vijay has got.
It is very easy to say Tamil Nadu vote for cinema Hereos. Since independence, only two cinema hereos, MGR and Vijay has got this kind of acceptance among people. Legends like Sivaji Ganesan and many others were not able to convert their popularity into votes.
Honestly I don't know why people have given such a huge mandate to Vijay. I never knew he had such a support among people.
It is a change which is not catching attention. Only two dravidian parties have been ruling Tamil Nadu for last 6 decades. For the first time, a non dravidian party has come to power.
Every Chief Minister so far had their roots in dravidian movement. Vijay comes with no political roots. Unlike his predecessors, he was not MLA, MP, Minister, Mayor or anything. He is directly becoming Chief Minister.
I understand West Bengal getting all the attention today. But what has happened in Tamil Nadu is unbelievable.
Atleast in West Bengal, people saw it coming. Almost no one saw it coming in Tamil Nadu.
The Rajasthan Royals traditionally have a smaller fan base than some of the larger city based franchises.
But just like Sachin did for MI, and MSD and Virat do now for their franchises, there will be supporters from other cities who will start supporting the Royals just because it is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's team.
It is happening already.
No better joy than beating Oz, be it any game. Period. And this one, defeating them in semis and how, with highest ever ODI run chase for India's Women's team. It doesn't get any better!
@JemiRodrigues you rock!! @BCCIWomen miles to go!!

Great GST reforms. Kudos! A small thing comes to mind:
No tax for BCCI- good.
But increased 40% GST on IPL tickets.
Incredible India: where cricket is a religion, the board is God, IPL is the temple, and the fans, the devotees, have to pay a higher offering.
Any thoughts?

🌧️The Mumbai Metropolitan City (Mumbai City & Suburbs) has experienced extremely heavy rainfall over the past two days. In certain locations, an unprecedented volume of rainfall exceeding 350 millimetres was recorded within a short duration.
☔️In light of the prevailing weather conditions, all departments of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) were actively and continuously engaged in on-ground operations. Officers, engineers, pump operators, health workers, other staff and emergency response teams remained deployed on-field with utmost dedication and promptness.
🔹Special attention was given to critical work such as the storm water drainage system, sewerage network and pumping stations. Immediate and necessary measures were undertaken to ensure that the drainage of rainwater remained unhindered and that public inconvenience was minimised.
🌧️Due to the exceptional nature of the rainfall, citizens did face inconvenience at a few locations. However, Mumbaikars showed commendable civic discipline, understanding and extended their full cooperation by responding positively to the advisories issued by the administration from time to time.
🙏The BMC expresses sincere gratitude to the citizens of Mumbai for their support and cooperation.

🚨 "If a simple 40% tax were applied just on IPL profits, nearly ₹15,000 crores could have been raised over three years—enough to fund 10 new IITs" - IISc Professor Mayank Shrivastava.
Japanese bullet train Shinkansen was delayed by 35 seconds! The conductor apologised to all passengers and refunded their tickets! Japan is truly an amazing nation of discipline and commitment for all of us to learn from.
Every few years, the world reminds us of our place. A threat here, a tariff there. But the message is the same: stay in your lane, India.
Global powers will always bully us, unless we take our destiny in our own hands. And the only way to do that is if we collectively decide to become the world's largest most unapologetic superpower in the world. In economy, in technology, in defense, and most importantly, in ambition.
There is absolutely no other way.
Buying Russian oil is our choice though that is the bone of contention now between India and USA.
But the irony is Indian citizens got no benefit from this cheap import of oil from Russia. We are still paying a very high price of fuel.
Don't know who all got benefit from Russian import.
Whereas US levying high tariff would affect many citizens.
Zero benefit but only pain for common man.
So it was India who orchestrated violent coup in Ukraine known as Maidan.
It was India who has a foreign policy of strategically defeating Russia .
It was India who provided $350 billion at the minimum to Ukraine to fight Russia so Russia can be weaken.
It is Indian MIC who earned billions in weapons contract .
It is India who continues weapons supply and intelligence.
It is India who refuses to have a serious negotiations with Russia and instead asking for “unconditional ceasefire” aka Russia’s capitulation.
Thank you Donnie , for educating us who is the real instigator and funder of the Ukrainian conflict.
