Another year, another grandstand sellout 😏👏
A massive and historic crowd will join us for the #Indy500 presented by @gainbridgelife next Sunday as the final reserved seat tickets will be sold today and the grandstands will be SOLD OUT.
I want to thank everyone for the kind condolences and messages of support. The loss is profound, but your prayers and love have meant more than I can express.
After 59 years of marriage, Danise was my closest confidant and lifelong partner in every sense. She believed deeply in the responsibility of serving the Fourth District by my side and never wavered in her support of that calling.
I took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and that responsibility remains. While I continue to grieve, I will carry on the work she cared so much about, strengthened by the support of our family and an exceptional staff. My office remains open to serve and support constituents.
Thank you,
Jim
The Office of Congressman Jim Baird is saddened to announce the passing of his beloved wife, Danise, following complications from injuries sustained in a car accident earlier this year.
Congressman Baird and Danise were married for 59 years, building a life centered on faith, family, and service. A devoted wife and loving mother of three, she was the foundation of their family and will be deeply missed. We ask that you keep the Congressman and his family in your prayers during this difficult time.
👏Headed to the Governor 👏
House Bill 1277 is headed to the governor to become law!
A legislative priority for IHCA/INCAL, HB1277 will expand access to care for elderly and vulnerable Hoosiers, empower providers, and help save costs on Medicaid funding.
We thank House and Senate lawmakers for their support and wish them well as they work to conclude the 2026 legislative session.

Today was Long Term Care Day at the Statehouse, and I said a few words of appreciation for the men and women who have dedicated their careers to caring for Hoosier seniors and those with disabilities.
And great work to the choir who sang our National Anthem.
We are honoring our bet with Indiana.
Stone crabs and key lime pie will be delivered to @GovBraun at the beginning of next week.
We are also sending additional key lime pies to Coach Curt Cignetti in recognition of his outstanding coaching performance.
Enjoy!
Thank you, State Rep. Jeff Thompson, for visiting Danville Regional Rehabilitation! The residents, nursing staff, leadership from @ASCSeniorCare & our team are grateful for your time & the discussion on Medicaid matters.
Our members are committed to delivering high-quality care to vulnerable Hoosiers every day, & we look forward to continuing to work with you & your colleagues on meaningful health-care reforms to support those efforts.
Thank you @LizBrownUS for being a long-term care champion!
As a devoted state policymaker who tirelessly fights for Indiana’s seniors, those with disabilities & their caretakers, it's an honor for IHCA/INCAL to recognize Senator Brown & present her with our 2025 Public Servant of the Year Award.

Mike Rowe: “We’ve been telling kids for 15 years to learn to code.”
“Well, AI is coming for the coders.”
“It’s not coming for the welders, the plumbers, the steamfitters, the pipefitters, the HVAC, or the electricians.”
“In Aspen, I sat and listened to Larry Fink say we need 500,000 electricians in the next couple of years—not hyperbole.”
“The BlueForge Alliance, who oversees our maritime industrial base—that’s 15,000 individual companies who are collectively charged with building and delivering nuclear-powered subs to the Navy … calls and says, we’re having a hell of a time finding tradespeople. Can you help?”
“I said, I don’t know, man … how many do you need? He says, 140,000.”
“These are our submarines. Things go hypersonic, a little sideways with China, Taiwan, our aircraft carriers are no longer the point of the spear. They’re vulnerable.”
“Our submarines matter, and these guys have a pinch point because they can’t find welders and electricians to get them built.”
“The automotive industry needs 80,000 collision repair and technicians.”
“Energy, I don’t even know what the number is, I hear 300,000, I hear 500,000.”
“There is a clear and present freakout going on right now. I’ve heard from six governors in the last six months. I’ve heard from the heads of major companies.”
@mikeroweworks
That’s a wrap on an impactful week in our nation’s capital! We are proud to have supported the largest contingency of Hoosier long-term care leaders for this week’s fly-in to Washington, D.C.
IHCA/INCAL members are deeply committed to their residents & ensuring they get the care they deserve. Giving a voice to Indiana’s most vulnerable & elderly populations is critical to the legislative process & in ensuring our elected representatives are fully informed on the impacts of federal health-care policies.
We greatly appreciate @SenToddYoung@RepJimBaird@RepHouchin@RepMessmer@RepShreve@RepStutzman@RepRudyYakym for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with us. We’re grateful for the staff of @SenatorBanks@RepMrvan@RepSpartz for meeting with us.
The engagement from the entire Indiana congressional delegation to support Hoosier seniors is commendable!
