the $ron buyback in retrospect may turn out to be perfectly timed

the treasury is buying back significant stacks of its own network token from the open market

the buyback initiative has bought back 5.1 million RON so far.

that's .5% of total supply, 1 out of every 200 every tokens to ever exist

that RON that is no longer in the effective circulating supply

it could be used in a multitude of ways in the future to foster growth or reward communities, it could be held on the balance sheet. if RON does a 10x, then Ronin's treasury does a 10x as well

if it had happened when $eth was $2000, the treasury wouldn't be reaccumulating nearly as much

I have a bit of a crazy prediction and insight here.

We are much earlier in the cycle than people think.

Bitcoin has been going up this cycle despite very tight monetary conditions, mostly due to Microstrategy and Government adoption.

Right now, there are two schools of thought.

1. We're in the topping process.
2. We may rally into Q4 and top.

Both of these are too mainstream to be correct.

My thesis is that 2025, is more akin to 2020 than 2021. The 2021 cycle ended once inflation picked up and they started raising rates. But we have the opposite happening here in 2025.

The true bull market, which will come with ETH, NFTs, and gaming making a massive vengeance tour is coming via:

1. lower interest rates
2. much more liquidity from the American + Chinese central banks
3. expansion of reverse repo facilities

It'll be time to sell once rates start rising again.

This is obvious but also contrarian in that it subverts expectations around the cycle ending in Q4.

• Increased composability of tokenized assets
• Issuance of new types of digital assets
• Real-time prediction markets for crowdsourced intelligence
• Transparent dashboards powered by immutable data
• DeFi protocol risk management based on macroeconomic factors

These datasets are updated monthly or quarterly as applicable, and are initially being made available across ten blockchain ecosystems, starting with Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Ethereum, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync. Support for additional blockchain networks can be incorporated over time based on user demand.

This development builds upon Chainlink’s accelerated work with the U.S. government in 2025, including meeting with several key officials and regulators to make policy recommendations that are advancing the growth of the blockchain industry.
