@2018_rgordon By doing so, Dickens continues his depiction of the revolution as a force of nature.

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

I liked how Dickens called the Jacques who burned down the tower "East, West, North, and South."(ch 23;228)

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@_hunterpenrose_ Something bad is going to happen to Darnay & he is going to end up in prison...He'll try to do good but mess up everything

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@2018_rgordon in the revolution and not saying "later, Jacques"

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

"Defrage himself, already begrimed with gun powder and sweat, issued orders"(212ch21) It's interesting to see Defrage actively particiapting

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@2018_rgordon who died? :(

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

"Even when golden hair, much like her own, lay in a halo on a pillow round the worn face of a little boy..."(208ch21) Did Chucie have a son?

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@BreeCom_ @AerielSun I wonder if Darnay's family had something to do with the Manette's initial imprisonment and that is causing the relapse

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@maddyv_mcg I TOLD YOU THEY'D BE MARRIED BY CHAPTER 20! Now that they are married though, I feel no sense of resolve...

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

I win. @maddyv_mcg @benlikeswhales

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@juliel2018 It looks like we have ourselves a not-so honest honest tradesman. I'm not quite sure where I can see this come into the plot l8r

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@juliel2018 I like this line! Revolution=earthquake: it strikes quickly and with great force, but no one knows how long it will take to form

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@maddyv_mcg okay I get the #Luney #feels but it isn't going to happen because Lucie only feels #pity for carton tbh she's married 2 darnay

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@benlikeswhales @maddyv_mcg okay so the ship is strong in this one but unfortunately Lucie isn't complex enough for carton

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

THEIR LOVE IS ETERNAL AND MY BABIES SHOULD JUST LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER ALREADY #IDontHaveAShipIHaveAnArmada #EatMyArmada @maddyv_mcg

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

My ship is so far sailed that only a love triangle (the one that is sure to happen between lucie, darnay, and carton) could slow it down

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

I absolutely loved the entirety of ch9, I thought it was beautifully written and I enjoyed how Dickens closely tied in architecture w/people

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

In bk2ch7 we truly get to see a second city (wealthy vs. poor) Monseigneur and Marquis demonstrate the excess wealth #rude #juxtaposition

[Rachel @2018_rgordon]

@juliel2018 I agree but I think I would need 5 servants to wait on me... Monseigneur surrounds himself with the greatest pomp and luxury
