@IFFFMEISTER The only way to somewhat interpret Chalcedon as Cyrilian is to hope the fifth council retconned enough of the fourth and how bad the tome of Leo is to the point you can argue now it’s just semantics. EOs might can make the argument but Cyril is a full blown Miaphysite.

@IFFFMEISTER I’m currently Lutheran. Learning more and more about Christology and Chalcedon makes OOs very respectable. Honestly, if one is to accept the the infallibility of ecumenical councils, the OOs have a very good point at stopping after the 3rd compared to EO &RC.

(2/2) so many call them Monophysite because I can only assume dealing with their actual arguments is really difficult. Honestly the best objection seems to be arguing for two wills instead of one, but they give a more than adequate explanation.

(1/2) Miaphysitism is way too historically defensible, and at this point every time I see the OOs called Monophysite, I automatically assume that person is a bad faith actor. Finding actual arguments against their objections to Chalcedon is tough.
