Election day needs to be a national holiday to make sure everyone has a chance to make their voice heard. Additionally, people should be able to vote in whatever language they speak because, as a reminder, the United States does not have an official language.

We should allow automatic voter registration and vote by mail because not everyone can take off work to vote. Our system discriminates against people of a lower socioeconomic status. I plan to restore voting right for former inmates to make sure our democracy reaches everyone.

We must stop treating immigrants as criminals! Under my administration, we will expand legal counsel for all immigrants, and eliminate the use of private dentention centers. There are other ways to monitor immigrants without depriving them of their rights and humanity.

I will raise standards for detention facilities and at the same time employ the use of alternative monitoring to decrease their populations. Our current facilities traumatize children, and separate them from their families for profit, commodifying their trauma.
