If cybersecurity was a legitimate profession noone would ever open source or use anything open source no matter how badly i code i will always be better protected from hacking than the very best of open source programs
@rezics@matthewmillerai@thsottiaux No, I believe they'll do whatever the X of the plus limit. The problem is they fuck with the plus limit, constantly its not a real number its entirely real based purely on a made up number
Remember those stories about male writers who stopped writing after their wives died, and we called it "losing their muse"? They didn't lose inspiration, they lost their uncredited co-writer.
@EnderStep I dont disagree in fact i have a theory that above a certain number of people the code produced by even competetent humans or which there are too few will always be more error prone verbose and disjointed than an ais right now i estimate that number at 2
There is no rational argument for using game engines now that we have ai even if i fully accept and grant
Ai produces bad code less performant code Bad code for your game specifically is far more performant than 30 years of general purpose code in something like unreal
This game is entirely "vibe" coded.
I spent 6 months using AI to replace Unreal Engine from under our game Em-8ER.
Now we're developing 93x faster than we ever did before with Unreal. Because our engine is developed to be 100% AI first instead of tacked on.
It is not a toy one shotted overnight, it is a production ready engine.
I made a big bet that this was the future and now I'm very confident it is. You don't need to license an expensive game engine anymore.
Today's update features:
- Advanced character animation system
- World collision meshes
- AI assisted Blender anim exporter and workflow
- Character outfits and outfit swapping
- Physic driven character effects
- Fully networked client/server player capsules
- Pilotable vehicles
- Waifus
The engine is called Kun-Zhi, the Tibetan word for "Ground of all" that the world springs from.
This engine will be released to the public, starting with backers first.
Today we're opening up to public backers again after a quiet building period where they were closed. If you would like to support our engine work and get the game, you can subscribe as a patron, or purchase a game backer pack on sale at 50% here: https://t.co/rgBBNxnjYI
Corporate sponsorships are available. Send a DM. Current partners include Razer and AMD.
Follow and subscribe for our first "How To" articles on AI coding and gaming dropping tomorrow.
@Zorkor4 I agree with you i never said you cant make a good game with an engine just that it is a subpar choice now that we have a technology to allow complete creative freedom and autonomy with improved performance and the same or better graphical quality
@crodaar Np id highly recomend just rolling your own tell it to use cycles to bake the lightmaps use vulkan or dx12 download whatever it needs etc things that you want you can get a photorealistic scene in under an hr that runs over 1000 fps without an engine
@rizatvzq Ya its horrendous the ue5 codebase is one of the most horrendous pieces of shit ive ever seen you fix one bug it causes another you fix that it causes another and you look up youve spent 2 yrs a snake chasing your own tail
@crodaar I had made in ue4 at lower levels of graphical lighting quality the technologies are contradictory a game engine is essentially already made highly constrained for you to add smaller parts onto a big base with a small net ai has the entire internet as a net so it wants
