RECALL OF PARLIAMENT FROM RECESS - FUEL PRICES: Following our proposal to amend various laws with the aim of reducing fuel prices, we have written to the Speaker of the National Assembly with a request to recall the house from recess at the earliest, preferably Monday to process the various proposed amendments.

We have proposed amendments as below;

Amendment on the VAT act to reduce VAT on fuel
Products from 8% to Zero thereby making Petro, Diesel and Kerosene VAT exempt. This will save Kenyans Ksh 15.87 and Ksh 17.99 on Super Petro and diesel respectively.

Reduction of RMLF by Ksh 7 through the revocation of the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (Imposition of Levy) Order, 2024.

The proposal on additional Ksh 5Bn subsidies for Diesel does not necessarily need Parliamentary approval.

All these proposals can reduce the Price by an acceptable margin and avert damaging inflationary effects to the economy.

EPRA has sharply increased fuel prices for the month of May 15 to June 14, 2026.

— Super petrol up by Sh16.65 to Sh214 per litre
— Diesel up by Sh46 to Sh243
— Kerosene remain Unchanged.
