My wife and daughter went to see Ed Sheeran tonight.

They prefer not to see Macklemore.

Tickets were less than $40 each.

They say it’s packed. Lots of young couples and families. And they didn’t see any protestors on their way into the concert.

Bert Atienza, 77, and his wife Josephine had just left church. They stopped at the Walmart on North Military Highway in Norfolk to buy groceries.

A 17-year-old employee nearly hit Josephine with a heavy cart and kept walking. No excuse me. No apology.

Bert said what any husband would say: “You almost hit my wife with your heavy cart, and you did not even say excuse me.”

They walked away. The employee threw a can at them. Then she called her parents.

Minutes later Erika Mitchell, 42, and Travis White, 44, were in the aisle. They crowded him. One hit him in the face. He went down. They kept kicking him while Josephine screamed that he had heart problems.

He was still talking. “Help me. Get up.” Then he wasn’t.
He died the next day of blunt head trauma. Homicide.
The parents are charged with second-degree murder, held without bond. The teen is charged too. Walmart says she no longer works there.

42 years of marriage. Plans to retire in the Philippines. Ended in a grocery aisle because a man asked for manners.

That is the country we are living in.

Bill Maher just weighed in on the Macklemore saga and dropped a heavy dose of common sense on the whole thing.

Maher put it perfectly:

MAHER: “Is anyone looking for anything of this at a concert? I mean, do I really need a lecture on politics of any stripe, right when the molly is kicking in?”

This is one of those 80/20 issues.

People are sick of going to a concert to hear their favorite music and instead getting preached to about politics by entertainers who have no more expertise on the subject than the people sitting in the crowd.

He didn’t stop with Macklemore...Maher also took a few shots at Bruce Springsteen for doing the exact same thing.

MAHER: “I don’t want Bruce Springsteen to do it either. Why is he doing this? What’s the point? Because the people who agree with him, agree with him, but there’s a lot of people, I bet, who are Trump voters who like Bruce Springsteen and always have.”

“He looks like one of them, he’s a working class guy. Now they have to go to the concert like, okay, I still like the music, but, you know, really? I don’t love you as much, Mr. Boss.”

So in a matter of days, Ed Sheeran has lost all his support acts, he's lost his house band, he's been banned from various commercial radio stations, Ireland's press has stated he's never welcome to return to the country, organized protests are being formed to take place in the grounds outside upcoming concert dates, he's been accused of having links to Jeffrey Epstein, and Goebbels-style cartoons have been pushed everywhere of his likeness.

And the left think this is progress?
