Last weekend the winners of the Black Powder Experience auctioned at last year's annual fundraiser claimed their prize! They had an amazing day at Chipping Norton Rifle and Pistol Club, shooting Brown Bess muskets alongside reenactors from @coldstream1815 and @2ndBn95thRifles!
Today's medals belonged to Private (Rifleman) Baldwin of the 95th Rifles. Below is his Military General Service Medal 1793-1814 with four clasps and a Regimental Medal made from a Spanish dollar, for his actions at the Battle of Barrosa on 5th March 1811.
The @2ndBn95thRifles had an impressive array of of costumes, tents and living historians at @CVHISTORYFEST @James1940 this year! Again another first class display of #amazinghistory
@ApsleyHouse @Rob_Griffith_ @The_95th_Rifles Caldwell’s 100m may well be right. The 200-600m mentioned on our website is speculative based on what might be possible with a Baker Rifle. The lower end of that scale being far more likely.
