We need to also please be very loud and supportive for Kendall who was violently raped by an LSU football player and bravely told her story to the world
When I was being cross-examined by my stalker's defence lawyer in court, he pulled out a dictionary, pointed to the word "harassment" and asked me to read its meaning aloud. I refused.
He then picked one of the dozens of messages my stalker had sent me and asked what exactly was abusive about it. When I asked, "Isn't that abusive language?", the judge reprimanded me for asking questions back. The lawyer, I was told, was merely doing his job.
At one point, the defence lawyer read aloud one of my stalker's disgusting messages. The judge remarked, "oh, our accused is a budding poet," and proceeded to laugh, along with the defence lawyer and a few others in the courtroom.
Procedure is punishment. If a survivor even musters the courage to fight back, the system will make sure she regrets it, questions herself and second-guesses her decision to seek justice every step of the way.
She is made to relive her trauma, defend her dignity, justify her fear and prove, over and over again, that what happened to her was wrong.
The perpetrator gets a defence. The survivor gets put on trial.
Men enable men. And patriarchy has ensured that men occupy most of the positions from which women's experiences are questioned, minimised and dismissed.
We keep getting asked why women don't report sexual violence and harassment. Why we don't fight back. Why we withdraw complaints. Why we choose silence. They are in denial about what we are put through when we do.
As a Slavic woman, I am going to give you some advice, because I know that you need it. Be a problem. Be an absolute menace. Be as crazy as you can be, especially when it comes to men. With crazy, I don't mean cussing him out or slashing his tires. Slavic women don't do that. I mean be so unapologetically yourself that it scares him. He needs to fear you. He needs to know his place. You are the closest thing to God. He is accompanying you, but he needs to be good to deserve that place. Don't hold back. Say the thing that nobody is saying out loud. Call him out on his bullshit. Have high standards. Tell him what you want. Be up front and direct. And don't beat around the bush. The right man will think: "I have to keep this one. I am scared of her, but I need to do everything in my power to keep her." And the wrong man will eliminate himself really quickly. Because he will either know that he isn't capable of fulfilling your needs, or he will think that you are completely batshit crazy. Which is fine. Who cares? Stop being a good girl. Stop ignoring your needs and your standards just to keep a man. If you have to do that, that man is not yours to keep. But take care of yourself. Take care of your appearance. Don't walk around looking homeless. If you're going to have high standards for men, first you need to have high standards for yourself. I believe in you. Good luck.

Living a life full of pain and suffering. I don’t want to watch a show where in the end is all despair I live that everyday!!! For 32 years of my life. God bless me for wanting to see happiness in someone else’s life wtf
Sometimes when I watch these shows with people or movies where nobody wins and good people just die for the sake of it.. I wonder if it’s just torture porn for those who have never actually dealt with strife in their lives.. you do not know what true torture is.
depression is embarrassing because sometimes it makes you miss appointments and not return phone calls and when the fog start to lift you gotta do a whole fuckin apology tour. thats shit is crazy.
I think real relationships are a lot less polished than the internet makes them seem. Your partner is going to fall apart sometimes. You’re going to carry emotional weight for each other. You’ll misunderstand each other, disappoint each other, and make mistakes you never meant to make. Love isn’t valuable because it’s easy—it’s valuable because two imperfect people keep choosing to grow together anyway.
