This innovation could enable indigenous rbiFSH for assisted reproductive technologies, strengthen cattle breeding, and support cost-effective biomanufacturing of complex glycoproteins
The study overcomes the challenge of balanced FSHα/FSHβ expression for proper heterodimer formation. They also report the first conserved Bos indicus-specific SNP in the FSHβ gene (with valuable support from Dr. Sarwar Azam and Bioinformatics team).
A new publication from Dr. Nirmalya Ganguli's lab @HydNiab highlighted the development of a bicistronic P2A-based mammalian expression system to produce biologically active recombinant bovine FSH from Bos indicus (rbiFSH).

Exciting news. A part of my PhD journey involved working on the primary cell. Excited to learn that the patent has been granted for the platform which establishes an immortalized cell-line from the primary cells. Great going by the lab. Onwards and upwards ⏫
Excited to announce that invention from our lab @HydNiab "Method of Establishment of Efficient Immortalization Strategy for Primary GMEC," has been granted an Indian Patent (Patent No. 594406).
Congratulations to @Nirmaly29638362 , Dewanshu Sharma , Soma Behera

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Ravi Kumar Gandham, VPPS, as the new Director of BRIC–NIAB, Hyderabad. His leadership and vision are expected to further strengthen cutting-edge research and innovation in animal biotechnology. Wishing him great success in this new role.
A @SciSignal study reveals functionally different mutations in a #Gprotein associated with a rare neurodevelopmental disorder, showing that the potential contribution of each variant—and any potential therapeutic intervention—must be examined individually. https://t.co/V2hQRTtwD3
