@asalciunas975@JohnKincade@sixers I know the logo similarity is probably throwing you off but that’s actually not from the Sixers.
It’s from the civic committee that organized the Bicentennial celebration. That committee was headed by Richard C Bond who ran Wanamaker’s. They also helped get Vet Stadium built.
WOW. A high school in Ohio organized a march to the polls with the high school band for first-time voters who are 18 or about to turn 18. Every high school around the country should do this too. So amazing.
@pbeanVT@SenSanders You do realize that Bernie is US Senator which IS the Federal level. It’s literally his job. If you want something done at the State level, talk to your Governor or those that represent you in the State House & Senate.
@Kil889 That’s bc the Sixers don’t own the Wells Fargo Center complex, the owners of NHL’s Flyers do. When the new Sixers arena is built in Chinatown, I gotta feeling these statues or bigger ones will be there.
@DrAPearson@michaelharriot Thank you for sharing this one story, from one side of your (one) family. I look forward to hearing many more from you and from others. History & perspective is always better when there is a personal connection.
@Will_Bunch Well that’s hot take…or should I say ice cold take. Don’t get me wrong I get your frustration but we are far from the worst team. The Knicks are probably playing some of the best ball in the East right now so I wouldn’t put too much into tonight. Playoff assumption is valid.
@975BestShowEver I know this QotD was a couple days ago but after reading today’s Phillies Beat article by @ToddZolecki, I’d like for Charlie Manuel to be considered for one of the three positions (most likely VP). Whaddaya think @TyJohnsonNews@rickybottalico@Jennifer_Scordo
