“These men didn’t write their sermons with an eye to publication in books. They were preaching to the congregation in front of them.”

.@SECWAR “I’ll close with scripture, drawing strength from Psalm 144:
‘Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge.’
May the Lord grant unyielding strength and refuge to our warriors; unbreakable protection to them and our homeland; and total victory over those who seek to harm them.
Amen.
Community notes ftw on this one.
The AWB he references (‘94-‘04) had absolutely no positive effect in reducing shootings.
To say it did is a lie & hinges on people being too dumb to understand basic statistics.
This AWB in VA is disgusting, as is the man that authored it.
My bill SB749 to ban the sale of Assault Weapons will be voted on today. When I ran for the State Senate, I campaigned on this, and I promised that we would make real change in my first term. Together, we will get this to the Governor's desk.

Every time a politician opens their mouth trying to justify gun control they prove how stupid they are.
The levels of idiocy continue to reach new heights.
Virginia Senate Majority Leader @ssurovell on Democrats passing an 'assault weapons' ban:
"If you have an assault pistol, one of these pistols with a silencer on it, and a pistol grip in the front, a really big big pistol with a telescope on it, or lasers, that's okay!"
The Virginia Senate has officially sent an 'assault weapons ban' to Spanberger's desk.
The bill bans new purchases of 'assault weapons' and magazines over 15 rounds.
It's author is State Sen. Sadaam Azlan Salim, who was born in Bangladesh.
🚨HEGSETH: "When I pray, everyday, for them and for this mission, I pray simply for the biblical wisdom to see what is right, and the courage to do it."
@pastorjgkell It was a blessing to hear this during church this morning.
Oh, how often we take for granted the ability to gather and worship with fellow believers. Sobering and convicting. Praying fervently for our Christian brothers and sisters.
I spoke w/ several believers in the Middle East today.
The most frequent prayer request:
“Pray that we would be able to gather as a church this Sunday.”
They don’t see church as optional. They treasure being under God’s Word together.
Pray for peace and gospel opportunity.
The proud man will be pulling down of others in their reputation, and so by their eclipse he thinks he shall shine the brighter.

“Remember, you are not a tree, that can live or stand alone. You are only a branch. And it is only while you abide in Christ, as the branch in the vine, that you will flourish or even live.”
Robert Murray M'Cheyne
It is our duty as believers to be prepared to endure any hardship or trial which God lays out for us in our Christian walk.
—William Gurnall, The Christian in Complete Armour, 2:358
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20
Reading fiction is important.
I read a lot of non-fiction and theological works, but I firmly that fiction should have a place on the bookshelf of the Christian.

“Do you mortify; do you make it your daily work; be always at it whilst you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.”
