They were sons, daughters, students, a toddler, a baby. They were innocents. They were hated. They were tortured and murderd. All stolen the same way.
Brendin Horner (21) was a Free State farm manager. He was stabbed, tortured and strangled on 1 October 2020 near Paul Roux. He was found the next morning tied by the neck to a fence pole. He had been checking livestock when attackers caught him.
Hannah Cornelius (21) was a Stellenbosch University student. On 27 May 2017, she and a friend were hijacked in her car. She was gang-raped, stabbed in the neck and had a large rock dropped on her head while she was held down. Her friend survived after being beaten with bricks.
Johanco Fleischman (19) & Jessica Kuhn (21) were driving on a highway when he truck ran out of fuel on the N12 near Benoni on 26 May 2019. While they waited for help, attackers approached, called Johanco a racial slur, and opened fire. Jessica was shot in the head inside the vehicle. Johanco was shot multiple times and left on the road.
Wilmien Potgieter (2), on 1 December 2010, on a farm near Lindley, was present when attackers tortured and murdered her father Attie (151 stab and cut wounds, garden fork through the neck). Her mother Wilna was hacked and shot. Wilmien was taken to an outside room and shot execution-style in the back of the head so she could not identify the killers. A note was left; “We have killed them. We are coming back.”
Kayla Meyer (9), in March 2016, on a smallholding near Randfontein, attackers found her grandfather making her a sandwich. They murdered him with a crowbar on her bed (blood on her Frozen pillow), then tied Kayla with wire, sexually assaulted her and beat her to death with a spade. Her mother and father were also bludgeoned to death. Four lives in one night.
Wiehan Botes (5 months) was strangled on 23 May 2012 in Delmas while at his day mother’s home. His body was hidden under a bed. His 66-year-old day mother was also strangled. Nothing was stolen. His parents had waited eight years for him.
Different years. Different places. Same pattern. Same silence.
YOUNG ATTORNEY SHOT DEAD IN ELDORADO PARK
A young Johannesburg attorney was shot dead alongside another person in Eldorado Park.
Police say Nadine Meintjes and a male passenger were found inside a Toyota Urban Cruiser at the Klipspruit West off-ramp on Monday, 2 November.
The vehicle had several bullet holes in the driver’s door. Both occupants had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
Police are investigating two counts of murder. No arrests have been made and, at this stage, the motive for the shooting remains unknown.
Netwerk24 reports that Meintjes, 30, worked on several cases in the Johannesburg area, including court matters linked to gangs in Eldorado Park. However, there is currently no evidence establishing that her legal work was connected to her death.
Her killing has sent shockwaves through the legal fraternity.
The tragedy has also raised a difficult question about the risks faced by those working in the justice system. Legal professionals should be able to represent clients, argue cases and carry out their duties without having to wonder whether their work could put their own safety at risk.
For those who studied and worked alongside Meintjes, her death is also the loss of a colleague whose career was still unfolding.
Police investigations are continuing.

The second female law practitioner killed in Johannesburg this year.
The first one was Chinette Gallichan murdered outside the CCMA in March.

The number of assassinations in this country is shockingly high. No legal practitioner should be killed for doing their job. It's senseless! I guess the answer lies in a case she is busy with.

🇿🇦 An elderly couple was tortured for hours during a brutal farm attack in Broederstroom.
Les and Natasha Brett were assaulted by three assailants, burned with boiling water and threatened with horrific torture before handing over the keys to the safe.
I almost want to admire the audacity of a party campaigning on ending Apartheid to provide a "better life for all" spending the next 30 years after coming into power explaining that they can't provide a "better life for all" because of Apartheid.

Do you know how backwards we must be as a country to consider the shops of Pakistanis, Somalis, Nigerians,Ethiopians etc as “the economy” and the Government consistently making noise about protecting “the economy” .
Do you have any idea how much s*** we are in if our own government considers an illicit economy as part of “the economy” so much so that the President of the country would send out the army and stand at a BUSINESS event to protect the so called “economy” instead of getting rid of it?? ‼️
South Africa needs saving and it’s beyond a desperate situation now, it’s urgent 💔 VOTE WISELY 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
There is agenda to islamise south Africa by corrupt ANC by importing millions of Islamic terrorists masquerading as refugees from Somalia Ethiopia Pakistani Bangladesh,we must fight and reject that
MANY victims of brutal farm attacks survive, so no white crosses for them. SOME physically or psychological scarred for life. This latest attack on a young farmer and his wife, cutting off the farmer's ears again is NOT normal crime or robberies. 😡😡😡
Daily Maverick ran a fake death story about a Ugandan man, then quietly walked it back when he turned up alive in hospital. No retraction, no apology. Meanwhile Warrant Officer Eunice Nortman 34 years in the SAPS, mother of two, was actually murdered on duty by an illegal foreigner an act of terror. Real death, real children left behind, and the same publication gave her almost nothing. They don’t defend truth. They defend a narrative….
Was it a strategic editorial decision not to cover this savagery, @AdriaanBasson@News24? Read the horrific details. Is that not news? Or is it just not the right news?
Also nothing on @IOL, @dailymaverick, @mailandguardian, @SABC, @eNCA.
Our media is dead, and good riddance.
South Africa's legacy media are quick to condemn and discredit those who bring attention to Farm Murders, but when the attacks happen and show the brutality, they refuse to report on them.

🚨🚨 Horrific Farm Attack!
Donovan Marx’s ears were cut off, gunshot went through his back and out his stomach, then the savages tried to hack off his genitals.
But, in South Africa this is called “normal crime” and everyone is a potential target.
Nothing to see here, move on and keep quiet! 🤐
According to Donovan Marx's neighbor, after taking his ears off, they cut them into pieces, and tried to cut off his GENITALS! They were interrupted when the farm worker freed himself and was able to get help. Normal crime. Nothing to see here.
