Our top story: The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit orders the PG to restore the striking journalists' contract, including its health care plan, and bargain a new one, and strikers are looking forward to returning to work: https://t.co/ZXrXTNwJms
BREAKING: We did win!
Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @PittsburghPG to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for for 3+ years.
On August 11, deadly explosions at Clairton Coke Works killed 2 people and injured 10, including health inspectors. This plant, already the county’s worst polluter, continues to poison Black, Brown, Indigenous, and frontline communities with toxic air and broken promises.
We must demand justice: accountability from U.S. Steel, stronger enforcement, fully funded health protections, and real climate solutions.
Follow @412justice and @TAAGAdvocacy to support relief efforts and fight for clean air in Allegheny County. #Think100Climate
I believe that every single person found not guilty deserves to be financially compensated and their attorney fees reimbursed.
Until the District Attorney starts facing consequences they won’t stop aggressively prosecuting and over charging people for crimes they didn’t commit.
The Allegheny County District Attorney spent THREE YEARS trying to convict a 15 year old of a crime someone else confessed to.
Today a jury found him not guilty on all charges.
🧵1/ Tonight, @PPSnews is asking the Board to vote on a resolution that starts the legal process to close schools and move forward with a major reconfiguration. The plan is not final—but they’re asking for a green light anyway.

Pittsburgh public schools are voting this week to close nine schools. Forever. Changing children’s lives. Those neighborhoods. And doing it all without a clear plan for Major details like transportation costs, zoning, and retention.

"Closing community schools without a solid plan will have a devastating effect on our children,” said Noel Webb with the organization 412 Justice. She said that statement directly to the superintendent and board directors on March 24.

Thank you to all the students, parents, community members and teachers who RAISED YOUR VOICE!!! Dr. Walters said he "heard clearly from our board that more information is needed." Now, we must work together to create a plan for investing in Long-Term Growth and Stability!
We WON!! Over 130 of us who care deeply about Pittsburgh Public Schools showed up Monday to speak at the public hearing as a final stand against the reckless school closure “plan.” Over a year of organizing, protesting, letter writing and speaking up has finally been heard!!
