@gabriel1 All those things make acting hard, yes, but isn't the real reason just that you don't know the 300k job is there? Hindsight is 20/20, easy to say after you get it, if you do, that you should have done it sooner.
@waitbutwhy Wikipedia thinks less than that, nitrogen cycle collapse or something, don't know the details.
I wonder if an L1 point reflector or something is possible.
@EndWokeness If education is not a federal issue and ending the Department of Education is a good idea, then how is this a matter of federal authority? This is a state issue.
@tis_happening This is not accurate at all. In the first book, Paul repeatedly has nightmares about his "terrible purpose" but can't see a way out of it. It's not in anyway about "the oppressed common man", he's royalty and the product of a millennia long breeding program.
@GreeneMan6 God is dead, and Zoomer men aren't hearing any messages propped up by dead gods. This is obvious, or we wouldn't be here in the first place. A novel alternative is needed, there is no going back.
@Aella_Girl Depends. If I flip a switch and a genie transitions me completely, quickly, and freely, sure, who wouldn't. If it's a long arduous process and every day you put in is a day you spend winding back out, then no.
@terronk US's involvement in proxy wars and nation building has had mixed results. It depends on the quality of the government we're backing. Or do you think the US should have committed even more to Afghanistan and Vietnam? It matters where Ukraine is on this spectrum.
@St_Rev I used to occasionally do a search for >=91% off sales, which were rare but great deals on usually halfway decent games. Now that search returns tons of garbage that's "99% off" but the base price is like a thousand bucks.
@robertgraham Maybe it's idiotic because it's just trivial and irrelevant, but why does it matter that it's what he always wears? Why is it what he always wears? Does always wearing something make it above criticism? Seems fair to criticize e.g. Fetterman for it every time.
@krishnanrohit People are seriously treating the deficit like a one turn loss and not ticking time bomb that forces you to pay and pay and pay. It was bad by humanitarian and selfish terms to extend aid paid by loans. The loans come due, and this is the predictable consequence.
@PiquantParvenu He likes people who are nice to him and dislikes people who are not. It's very simple, Putin sees that, lots of people can't and try to explain this simple relationship with insane conspiracy theories instead.
@gayspyalex@uwukko Yes, but the donation that caused the controversy was in 2008. And I don't think an opinion about the legal arrangement of marriage equates to "openly homophobic". You're going to have to cite something better than one political donation to back that up.
@joshtpm "drove the economy into a recession" Even with all the cuts, there's still a significant budget deficit. Running a deficit is a guarantee for a future recession *at best*. Elon is just reaping whats been sown by 25 years of irresponsible governance.
