Speaking to EM colleagues around the world- common theme of hospitals using COVID as an excuse for current access/exit block issue.
News flash- Access block was a regular occurrence BEFORE COVID… as was concentrating all patient risk in the ED rather than spreading it across 🏥

@char_durand And try to do your best with moments of care throughout the shift - when you get the chance, sit down with your patient, hold their hand if you need to, get them a pillow or a drink of water. It helps you remember why we do our job in the chaos
