Michele Kang

Letter from Michele Kang: “A New Chapter for Olympique Lyonnais”
Dear Supporters,
Today marks a new and hopeful beginning for Olympique Lyonnais.
After a difficult period, we are turning the page and moving forward together with renewed determination. I am fully committed to this journey and truly excited to write this new chapter alongside each and every one of you.
On behalf of the entire OL leadership team, I would like to personally thank you for your unwavering support and remarkable resilience. You have stood by the club through the toughest times, and your passion has never wavered. Your energy on match days — both inside the stadium and beyond — has been our greatest source of strength. It has carried us through moments of doubt and helped us achieve what many are already calling a miracle in the world of sport: saving Olympique Lyonnais not once, but twice in less than a year.
We will never forget where we came from, but our eyes are firmly fixed on a brighter future. Nothing would have been possible without you, and we owe it to you to honor your trust and loyalty.
Together, we will rebuild the club and restore it to its rightful place among Europe’s elite, proudly serving our community and French football. With you by our side, we are laying the foundations for a culture of high performance, unity, excellence, and responsibility.
Together, let us write a proud new chapter in Olympique Lyonnais’ history — one that honors our past, celebrates our present, and inspires our future.
With deepest gratitude, Michele
Named 'Forever 20', it celebrates their lives, their bond, and the love and respect felt for them by family, teammates and supporters across the world ❤️
13,454 patients.
That’s the number of patients our Tawba Medical Point by The Sameer Project have provided medical care for from April - June. Support our work: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
This medical point in Jabalia is our source of pride. Despite the risk of being near the yellow line, and the proximity to shootings and bombings, our incredible team served almost 13,500 people!
Nurse Mohammad has this strong sense of pride as he serves his community. He is a part of The Sameer Project family and our purpose is to provide aid as a form of resistance, as a way to help the steadfastness of the Palestinians in North Gaza.
This medical point costs us at least $2,100 per day so that’s around $55,000 per month. This might seem like a large amount but every dollar you invest is literally saving lives of Palestinians in the North.

"The whole world is asleep." This is the cry of a man watching his people suffer while the world looks away.
Give to Gaza: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
He speaks with anger because he is exhausted. He speaks with pain because every day brings more airstrikes, more families torn apart, more hunger, and more uncertainty. As famine-like conditions return and blood continues to be shed, he wonders how the world can simply move on.
There is nothing wrong with celebrating sport or moments of joy. But for Gaza, there has been no pause from loss, displacement, or fear. While millions cheer victories on the field during the World Cup, families here are still searching for food, water, safety, and loved ones.
His words are a reminder that behind every headline are people who feel abandoned.
Don't let Gaza disappear from your attention. Stand with its people. Speak about what is happening. Support those providing life-saving aid while there is still time.

These aren't our words. They're theirs: "Gaza needs water."
The people living through this crisis know exactly what will help them survive. More clean water. Help now: https://t.co/jw67Ah9X72
And we can make that happen, together, as a community.
By completing The Sameer Project's newly built desalination plant, we won't just be delivering the water available today - we'll be creating a new source of fresh, clean water for the months and years ahead.
This is a chance to be part of something lasting. A permanent solution, not just temporary relief.
Just $5 from each member of our community brings us one step closer to making the plant fully operational.

For most of us, getting water means turning a tap. But in Gaza, it is a full day's work just to survive. Help here:
https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
Families search for a place where water access is available. They wait in long lines, hoping it won't run out before their turn. Then comes the exhausting journey home, carrying heavy containers through the heat - many of them cracked, leaking, and barely holding together.
Water is not a luxury. It is life. It is a human right.
The Sameer Project is working every day to bring clean water closer to the communities that need it most and to expand access through our new desalination plant. Help us shorten this journey. Help us bring life closer to home.

Community kitchens are closing. Humanitarian aid is shrinking. Once again, families across Gaza are facing the terrifying reality of not knowing where their next meal will come from. Hunger is everywhere, will famine return?
The tragedy is that we CAN do more. Give to Gaza: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
The Sameer Project's kitchen has the capacity to prepare 3,000 meals every day. We buy ingredients at wholesale prices, stretch every dollar as far as possible, and have the teams ready to cook and distribute meals across both North and South Gaza.
What is stopping us isn't logistics. It's funding.
On June 20, The Sameer Project prepared and distributed 485 hot mujaddara (rice and lentils) meals to families in Al-Quds Camp in Nuseirat. The total cost $782 after 11% commission. But thousands more families are waiting. We have the kitchen. We have the team. We have the ability. We simply don't have the funds to buy enough food.
Help us bring our kitchen back to full capacity. Gaza cannot afford for these meals to disappear. Donate to the Food and Water link: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX

It’s summer time and children should be preoccupied with staying cool and playing with friends - not rehabilitation after bullets and bombs.
Give to Gaza: https://t.co/dT6xhwzZFU
Lamar was left paralyzed after being shot. She endured painful bedsores and infection as she lay unable to move. Saif was paralyzed by the occupation and orphaned. Suhaib was shot through the face, his jaw shattered and his tongue severed. Different stories. The same injustice.
But at The Sameer Project's physiotherapy, speech, and occupational therapy tent at Refaat Alareer Camp, these children are no longer defined by what was taken from them. Every exercise, every word spoken again, every small movement regained is an act of resistance against those who tried to steal their futures.
Our therapists refuse to let despair set in. They replace hopelessness with goals, encouragement, and the belief that healing is still possible.
Now these children ask, "When can we run again?"
Inshallah, one day they will.
These children deserve every chance to heal, to recover, and to dream beyond the injuries they never should have suffered. Help support them and their recovery by donating to the Refaat Alareer Camp link: https://t.co/dT6xhwzZFU.

For more than 83 days, The Sameer Project's Tawbah Medical Clinic has been newly open to the public. Support now: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
In that time, we have treated thousands upon thousands of patients - many of whom had gone nearly three years without access to medical care. For this underserved community, our clinic is not a convenience. It is a lifeline.
Al-Shifa Hospital is roughly 45 minutes away, and as this grandmother recently discovered while seeking treatment for her grandson, it is overwhelmed by the sheer scale of need.
That is why Tawbah exists. Our doctors are helping fill the gaps left by the destruction of Gaza's healthcare system, providing care in nearly every specialty, including malnutrition, neurology, orthopedics, general surgery, and dentistry.
But this clinic exists only because people of our community of contributors. Every single day, we need nearly $2,100 to provide the medications and medical supplies our patients depend on. Without that support, this lifeline disappears.
Please help us keep Tawbah's doors open. Donate to our Medical Campaign to allow us to continue to treat patients: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1

From the tents on the shores of Gaza, two little girls send a kite into the sky.
For a few moments, it rises above the rubble. Above the fear. Above the grief.
It carries the colors of Palestine as if to remind the world that hope still refuses to surrender.
Children should know freedom, safety, and a youth untouched by one of the greatest atrocities that mankind has ever committed - but no. This is Gaza. The world is ok with the suffering of THESE children.
Yet here, they teach us what steadfastness looks like. They continue to dream. They continue to play. They continue to lift their eyes to the sky.
May the day come when the only thing flying above Gaza is a child's kite. Down with the occupation, their killing machines of airplanes and helicopters and drones and quadcopters. And may these children experience the freedom, the levity, the carefree soaring, the possibility, like this kite in the sky.
And until then, The Sameer Project is here to stand right beside them, in support, in solidarity.

Some children need a little more support. A little more patience. A little more care. But they are not any less deserving of dignity, joy, or opportunity. Help here: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
For mothers and fathers raising children with disabilities, neurological conditions, or complex medical needs in Gaza, every day is filled with impossible challenges. Finding medication, nutritious food, diapers, or even the right diet has become a constant struggle in the midst of genocide, bombardment, and displacement.
These are not "different" children. They are our children. They deserve to grow, to smile, to be cared for, and to be seen.
On June 18, The Sameer Project responded to the appeal of Samira and her daughter Suzanne, providing goods and essential medications to help support Suzanne's ongoing needs.
This is what your donations make possible: standing beside families who refuse to give up hope for their children, even when the world has turned away. The total cost of the aid we supplies including diapers, a hygiene parcel, a vegetable and fruit parcel, chicken, nutritional biscuits and milk, and other pantry staples was $204 after 11% commission. This did not include the price of her medication that we had in stock at our medical clinic and delivered to her.
Help us continue providing specialized support for Gaza's most vulnerable children. Especially those by the yellow-line with no where else to turn.
Every donation helps ensure that no child is forgotten. Give to our Medical Campaign: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1

You’ve seen the pictures, you hear the longing in people’s voices, Gaza was not always like this…of course. Gaza has been razed, destroyed, by the occupation. Support here: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
These families lived in homes. Some were modest apartments, some were farms, some were high-rises, some were villas. They had kitchens, neighborhoods, routines, and lives like anyone else in the world.
Today, they stand in line outside plastic tents for a single cooked meal.
On June 18, The Sameer Project distributed 485 freshly prepared meals of mujadara to every family in Nour Shams Camp in Gaza City. Eighty families received what has become the bare minimum: one meal per persons to get through another day.
This distribution cost $787 after 11% transfer fees. The need is far greater than what we can currently provide. Help us keep our kitchen running and continue delivering meals. Donate to the Food and Water link: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX

It breaks our heart to see children and the elderly, men and women, navigating the destroyed streets barefoot to fetch water. https://t.co/6l9JFjXgdv We try to bring water trucks to the areas most in need so that families do not have to travel long distances searching for it.
Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) x The Sameer Project provided 187,000 liters of clean water on June 7, and another 193,000 liters on June 8 to the North.

Simple words. Unshakable conviction: “I love Gaza."
You cannot teach this kind of steadfastness. You cannot manufacture this kind of patience. It lives in the hearts of Palestinian children who have endured more than any child ever should, yet still speak of their homeland with pride and love.
They have lost homes, schools, playgrounds, friends, family, and so much more. But they have not lost their identity.
Their message is clear: We love our land. We belong to our land. We will not give up our land. And Gaza, Palestine, is for Palestinians.
May these children one day know a Gaza where their love is met with liberation, dignity, sovereignty, self determination, self governance and the FREEDOM these child deserve.
And The Sameer Project will be by their side, to ease the suffering, to supply relief, until Gaza defeats occupation.
There is nothing we can write that is more powerful than the words of the people who rely on The Sameer Project's Tawbah Medical Clinic in Jabalia. Support now: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
Near the yellow-line, where healthcare has all but disappeared, this clinic is often the only place left for families to receive treatment. Every day, our doctors, nurses, and medical staff care for patients who have nowhere else to turn.
Listen to what they say: not about us, but about what this clinic means to their lives.
One patient says that helping keep this clinic open is a better way to spend money than going on pilgrimage because it saves the lives of your fellow Muslims, your fellow human beings. Those are their words, born from the reality they live every single day. Knowing there is a place to turn for treatment is the difference between suffering and relief, between deterioration and recovery, sometimes between life and death.
This clinic exists because people around the world choose to stand with Gaza. Your donation keeps its doors open, its shelves stocked with medication, and its medical team ready to treat the next patient who walks through the door. This is an expensive but necessary endeavor - costing about $2,100 per day for the medication alone.

The map keeps shrinking. The occupation already said they intend to seize 70% of Gaza (at least). Displacement has not stopped. The so-called "safe zones" continue to shrink as families are pushed farther and farther west, forced to abandon everything with little or no warning. Please help: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
This family had only moments to flee.
Our truck arrived expecting to just deliver water. Instead, it became their only way out. Our team loaded the family aboard and drove them away from immediate danger, toward an uncertain future, because staying behind could have meant death. We also provided the family with a tent and aid.
This is the new reality? Water trucks are no longer just carrying water. They are carrying families, hope, and whatever chance of survival that remains? Daily life is a continuous brush with death.
