Why should I pay taxes on the value they set because they suck at negotiations?

@DailGerry @BootsWH @TheGreenOldDill Had a client a few years back that had to sell hers after her WWII vet husband passed because she couldn't afford to pay the taxes. They purchased the house in the late 50's. Now that area near KC is highly coveted, and values skyrocketed. Of course taxes went thru the roof!

@BootsWH @ancap24 @TheGreenOldDill Hmm, My taxes in Johnson County, KS went up 14% this year. My home valued at just under $200K has a property tax of $3200. A WWII vet client of mine passed and his widow had to sell their home purchased in the 50's because she couldn't pay the taxes. Lived there 60+ yrs. :(
