@NirantK Importance of execution is a huge theme in Gawade’s work. I read this as WHO providing guidance, which the govt welcomed and executed a massive effort. A small group of experts could help move the needle on a huge scale was my takeaway

@NirantK agree re: Indians failing to appreciate the magnitude of efforts like this, but not seeing the narrative you’re implying here. Polio's a huge GoI success that's been praised globally, the fact we don’t celebrate it (and the Indians who played a part) enough is a separate issue
