For much of its history, it was one of the poorest countries on the continent.

Meanwhile, Vietnam was colonized by the French, devastated by decades of war, and is now on its way to serious economic prosperity.

If colonialism were the answer to why Africa is poor, Ethiopia should be rich and Vietnam should be broke. Neither is true.

🚨(1)BREAKING: Christian community police officer wins settlement after being forced out of his role for questioning and criticising Islam during diversity training.

Luke Salmons, who has been supported by the Christian Legal Centre, was suspended for six months, forced to resign and put on a police barring list after he had questioned radical Islam in a training session.

He had been told that the session was a 'safe place' for discussion, but after expressing his beliefs, the consequences were devastating.

After taking legal action, his case has now been settled on confidential terms, however his story raises serious concerns about free speech and religious freedom in UK policing.

The eagle lost his mate, but he never lost the need to be a father.

Researchers were confused when a nest camera showed a bald eagle standing beside a great horned owl and her babies. He wasn’t attacking them. He wasn’t stealing from the nest. He was bringing food, standing guard, and helping feed the owl’s chicks as if something in him still needed babies to protect.

The answer came from a nearby trail camera. Days earlier, a bear had climbed into the eagle’s nest and taken his mate. After losing his own family, the eagle somehow found an owl who had also lost help raising hers. Nobody can fully explain it, but people online say it looks like pure instinct mixed with grief. He could not save his own nest, so he helped save hers.

Topvirologen zagen furine-cleavage site direct als verdacht teken van lab-manipulatie

Op zondag 9 februari 2020, amper enkele weken na de eerste gevallen, mailde de Amerikaanse viroloog Vincent Racaniello aan NIAID-onderzoeker Vincent Munster dat hij geruchten hoorde over een mogelijk kunstmatig ingebrachte furine-cleavage site in het nieuwe coronavirus. Racaniello schreef letterlijk: „I’m hearing rumors about a furin cleavage site in 2019-nCoV that might have been engineered in. […] If true this is very bad for all of virology research.“
Munster deelde de e-mail intern met zijn team en reageerde veelzeggend: „And the fun begins.“

Precies één uur later dicteerde de Nederlandse virologe Marion Koopmans in dezelfde e-mailketen de communicatiestrategie. Ze adviseerde expliciet om de lab-escape-hypothese buiten de publieke discussie te houden. Haar woorden: „And I would leave ‘lab escape’ for the discussion, because putting that in the public domain as a hypothesis in my view will be read as ‘see, they also thought so’.“

Door de meest opvallende verklaring voor de uitzonderlijk goede mens-op-mensoverdracht (de FCS) bewust buiten beeld te houden, kozen de betrokken wetenschappers ervoor om jarenlang alleen de natuurlijke-oorsprongtheorie als acceptabel narratief te presenteren. Terwijl ze intern wisten dat het verhaal complexer lag, werd het virus ten onrechte niet volledig als extreem besmettelijk herkend op basis van zijn unieke eigenschappen. Koopmans versterkte dit twee weken later publiekelijk. Op 25 februari 2020 verklaarde ze in een interview met Rijnmond: „Buiten op straat blijken mondkapjes geen enkel effect te hebben, ook al omdat het virus helemaal niet zo besmettelijk is.“
Marion Koopmans speelde hiermee een centrale rol in de vroege onderschatting van de transmissie. Dit gebrek aan open informatie over de FCS en de mogelijke lab-oorsprong droeg bij aan een tragere en inadequate reactie, waardoor de uitbraak sneller kon escaleren en leidde tot onnodige sterfgevallen, een gesloopte samenleving, leerachterstanden bij kinderen, suïcides onder jongeren en ander onnodig leed.

Koopmans is recent gehoord in de parlementaire enquêtecommissie Corona, maar is niet specifiek bevraagd over deze vroege e-mails en haar bewuste keuze om de lab-escape-hypothese en de FCS-discussie buiten het publieke debat te houden. Met de kennis van nu heeft haar handelswijze met aan zekerheid grenzende waarschijnlijkheid geleid tot extra doden en onnodig leed.

Vragen voor een vervolgverhoor van @MarionKoopmans:
• Waarom adviseerde u op 9 februari 2020 expliciet om “lab escape” buiten de publieke discussie te houden, terwijl u intern wist van ernstige twijfels over de furine-cleavage site?
• Was u zich bewust dat het verzwijgen van deze anomalie kon leiden tot een onderschatting van de besmettelijkheid, zoals bleek uit uw eigen uitspraak op 25 februari dat het virus “helemaal niet zo besmettelijk” was?
• Vindt u nog steeds dat het wetenschappelijk verantwoord was om dit soort cruciale informatie strategisch buiten het debat te houden, met alle gevolgen van dien voor de Nederlandse en internationale aanpak?

Mandatory folic acid fortification affects the whole population, despite only a small proportion being at risk of issues due to a lack of folate, such as neural tube defects (NTDs) in unborn babies. NTDs only affect pregnancies, yet the entire population will be impacted. Some data suggests that NTDs can also stem from other causes, which folic acid cannot prevent. People should still have access to non-fortified and organic flour."

I am a poultry Breeder. The hens that lay white eggs (Amberline/White Star) DO NOT have a lower carbon footprint.

Yes they eat a bit less and produce roughly the same amount of eggs as the Brown egg layers (Bovan/Lowman/ISA Brown) but they live shorter lives, are prone to dying suddenly when startled, a flighty and nervous and because they live shorter productive lives (12 -18mnths) vs brown 18/24mnths (both commercial farmed), you have to incubate more which is increased (Electricity/gas costs) and their eggs are not the same quality.

I breed and keep 20+ different breeds, including: ISA Brown hens and White Stars. All my hens are 100% free range, Not a single barn kept bird, I have ISA browns that are 5yrs old and still laying beautiful Brown eggs, I have not seen a White star live beyond 3yrs and certainly none have laid eggs past 18-24mnths.
White stars Lay themselves to death. They are slender birds and because they dont eat a lot, it drains their personal vitality to keep up laying the eggs you want to sell because of the nonsensical lie that they are "More Carbon Neutral"

You want to know about eggs, come talk to someone like me, Don't rely on some hairbrained imagination of a buyer who's trying to squeeze the profit margin for a few extra pennies at our expense and to the poor hens detriment.

In recent days she has been falsely accused online of being part of the Henry Nowak bodycam footage even though she hasn’t been a police officer since 2024.

She is clearly not happy with @HantsPolice

They still have not put anything out to clear her name. She has received death threats and is now in a safe house.

What the hell is wrong with Hampshire police?

Why can’t they clear her name?

It takes two minutes to type something up. It doesn’t impede with any investigation as she hasn’t been part of the force in years.
