Had an interesting conversation at my son's U12 training session today. The discussion turned to the team's recent winning streak, and another parent asked how I felt about it.

I said it's great for the boys' confidence. Winning is fun, and seeing them enjoy their football is something every parent loves.

But as someone who understands the game, I couldn't help thinking that the real victory at this age is whether they're learning how to train, how to prepare, how to work with teammates, and how to respond when things don't go their way.

The wins we're celebrating today may be forgotten in a few years. The habits, character and love for the game they're building now could stay with them for life.

I felt a bit like a party pooper because everyone was focused on the results.

But watching from the sidelines as a parent, I found myself caring less about the winning streak and more about whether these boys are being prepared for whatever comes next.

vi. Israel kills relief workers.

vii. Israel detains Palestinians by the thousands.

viii. Israel tortures detainees.

x. Israel builds settlements on Palestinian land.

xi. Israeli settlers attack and kill Gazans in West Banks.

xii. Israel occupies the West Bank disregarding its status as illegal

under international law.

xiii. Israel occupies Lebanese land.

xv. Truly Israel has no respect for laws in general and International Laws in particular.

CNN? Nowhere.
MSNBC? Silent.
Fox News? Crickets.
BBC? Radio silence.

112 bodies. One mass funeral. Zero Western media coverage.

Journalism didn’t die. It just decided some mass funerals aren’t newsworthy.
