Our Mission We work together to fight gentrification and displacement, share knowledge about what’s happening in Tucson, and advocate for our communities.
Attention all Tucson Barrios Big VICTORY!!! 🎉😁👏For poor people and families who are in danger of being evicted, The Pima County voted 4-1 to provide legal representation for all those facing eviction. @PDITucson@PALF_AFLCIO @psltucson @mattheinzmd @SupGrijalva
Here in Tucson, we can see how our home inventory is already being devoured. Politicians can no longer turn a blind eye to what is fuelling this HOUSING CRISIS! We need to push for substantial housing solutions that will benefit everyone, not just wealthy investors. @TucsonRomero
Last night, @TucsonRomero and the City Council passed a historic policy to protect our water and promote economic & environmental justice. This is a huge victory and we're so proud of every single one of you who wrote, called, or spoke at a meeting. /🧵

We deserve these things. Tonight, we get to see if our elected officials agree. @TucsonRomero@nikkileeaz@PaulTucson @KarinUhlichW3: do the right thing for the people you represent. Tonight is a legacy defining moment. The people of Tucson are watching.
The people of Tucson have spoken, loud and clear: we want our debt cancelled and our working families' bills lowered. We want a fair water policy after so many decades of inequity. We want to protect our dwindling water supply and make Tucson a more climate resilient city.
The #OurWaterTucson platform is discussed extensively in this article. It's time to rein in sprawl, stop spreading our dwindling water supply thin, invest in climate resiliency, and provide much needed aid to low income families across Pima County. #cancelthedebt
Here is the wonderful speech from Zaira Livier, executive director of @PDITucson, from our rally last week. This is what's at stake for the people of Tucson.
Here is an excerpt from our co-founder's speech at the rally last week, explaining why we need to cancel water bill debt and lower bills for low income families.
We are in a housing CRISIS!
Check out Tucson estate sells for $3.7 M an article by @arizonadailystar It’s time to stop rewarding wealthy developers with incentives like the GPLETS and start investing in the community @tucsonromero @tucward1 @PALF_AFLCIO#peopleoverprofit
One of the most important parts of the #OurWaterTucson platform is to drastically expand the Low Income Assistance Program. We need to increase subsidies by millions of dollars and make enrollment in the program much easier. #WaterIsLife
Thank you @_Casa_Maria for the video!
The Our Water Tucson coalition calls on @TucsonRomero and the city council to pass 40% differential water rates and use the revenue to cancel water debt, lower bills for low income families inside Tucson & offset the new rates for those outside, and invest in climate resiliency.
The Barrio Neighborhood Coalition in addressing the growing economic disparities in Tucson believes that the water differential rate increase is long overdue for Tucson. We will continue to fight for equity.

If you believe it's time for Tucson to stand up to real estate developers, rein in sprawl, cancel water debt for 15,000 families hit hard by the pandemic, lower bills for low income families, and invest in climate resiliency, PLEASE SPEAK at the public hearing on June 8th. (1/3)
Check this out! This video from The Young Turks, it hits close to home. We at Casa Maria feel it's' worth 13 minutes of your precious time. We find this video hopeful in that Ana states emphatically that this needs to be dealt with legislatively... NOW! https://t.co/gIfKd0yRn8
