A sitting United States Senator just stood up at a podium, in front of cameras, with a quote that is — and I want to be precise here — REAL words in the WRONG context, presented as if they mean the OPPOSITE of what was actually said. If I did that in my classroom, my department head would pull me aside. But congratulations, Senator, because in the Democrat Party, that is called "having the facts."

Here is what Trump actually said, for those of you whose brains still load at dial-up speed in a fiber-optic world: a reporter asked him, to what extent are AMERICAN FINANCIAL STRUGGLES motivating him in his IRAN NUCLEAR NEGOTIATIONS. His answer? "The only thing that matters — they cannot have a nuclear weapon." He was talking about one thing and one thing only: preventing a nuclear-armed Iran during an active military conflict.

And here we are — you are literally demanding that the President of the United States think about GROCERY PRICES in the middle of nuclear non-proliferation talks. Brilliant. That is weapons-grade stupid, wrapped in a pantsuit, delivered from Capitol steps.

You want to talk about rising costs? Fine. Who voted to end the ACA COVID subsidies? Not a single Republican. Who passed the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act — the twin engines of the inflation that crushed working families? Democrats. Every. Single. One. You do not get to light the building on fire and then stand outside crying about the smoke.

I keep hearing Democrats scream about "rising costs" while the party that has not seen a tax or a spending bill it did not love (Quinn's Law Number Twenty-Seven, in case you need a citation) is absolutely great at giving away OTHER people's money (Law Number Twenty-Five) — including the money my family does not have left after three years of Biden's Autopen economic policy.

Your context-stripped quote is what we call a straw man fallacy — you built a fake argument, dressed it up in real words, and are now swinging at it in front of cameras. My students know better. The ones who ACTUALLY read the assignment, anyway.

But what do I know — I am only a science teacher and medically retired Army combat medic who understands that keeping Iran from getting nuclear weapons IS protecting the American people, including the four children I am apparently more concerned about than their own government is.

For anyone reading this, tell me below, am I the only one who loves their kids more than money? There has to be more out there.
