🇧🇪 Wouter Vrancken to be named the next Heart of Midlothian manager, announcement imminent.
He has vast experience of top flight football in Belgium recently leading his former side St Truiden to a 3rd place finish before leaving seeking a new challenge at the end of the campaign.
The 47 year old also at Gent for 6 months leaving by mutual consent with the club mid table. Prior to this, had two campaigns with Genk leading them to 2nd and 5th. Before this, had 4 campaigns at KV Mechelen taking them back to the top flight as champions in his first season then going on to finish 6th,6th and 8th in the post split standings.
In short, Wout’s style is high-energy, wide-heavy attacking football built on a solid 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 base, direct build-up, and a strong team culture ethos.
@NOTLFCJ__ It doesn’t at all. I do think rangers will spend a fair amount this summer but I hope Windass isn’t part of it. He’s hardly going to take us up another level the way a Cerny did / could.
That’s the level required
Re: Windass
Decent player, makes squad better.
But likely costs far too much to justify the spend, especially for someone who I don’t think moves the needle.
@moximc@jucojames Within reason. Top teams around the world all have cores of players from the nations they play in.
Being good enough ability is most important but to disregard ‘club culture’ is wrong.
I used to, but then you see people who have actually been in dressing rooms emphasising
🚨Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland is set to become the first arrival of the summer for Danny Rohl.
@RangersReview55 understands Shankland will return early from his holiday to complete a three-year deal.

Sometimes the ones that are most obvious are the best ones.
No brainer signing, really.
And a potential candidate for the captaincy too (even though i personally hate striker captains!)
49ers are showing at Leeds they clearly know what they’re doing.
They, w/ Cav, have had the worst first season possible. Couldn’t have been worse.
But I do think they’ll get it right. Let’s wait and see what business we do over the summer and how we begin to shape up.
Rangers DNA…
Watt, Shankland, Ferguson? Who else?
Patterson maybe.
Struggling to think of rangers fans i want us to sign outwith that. Maybe McLean as part of the squad.
Cavenagh showing here he understands what’s needed.
Rangers fans will ask if the manager has displayed these attributes.
It’s a big call by the chairman and he will be judged as a leader on the results of his decision-making.
