It was not the only answer but the first guy that came in said that there is no reason to use anything greater than a merv 8 in any furnace. I asked every other that I hired and they agreed that it was marketing.

@furdburfle81 @Make_It_Right Inbound air to the system but you don’t need to use it for filtering bacteria…MERV 8 is a high enough rating. Was just explained this by an HVAC guy. It filters for the furnace not the people.

@coffeewoodwork @christopherokey @Make_It_Right This is not correct. Merv 13 is too restricted for most systems and will put strain on it and lead to early motor failure. You don’t need anything above an 8 or maybe 11.
