I will be testifying before the @uscpsc to discuss the lithium-ion battery crisis. There have been 131 lithium-ion battery fires this year, causing 76 injuries, 13 deaths. It is now the 2nd leading cause of fire deaths in NYC. It is a threat to New Yorkers and our #FDNY members.

Nelson is a Mississauga Firefighter who raised $13, 719 to help support the care that his child received at our paediatric clinic!

He undertook a fundraising initiative among the Mississauga fire department to raise money for our clinic and another hospital to ensure fun, distraction, and entertainment for the kiddos. He donated a VR headset and from the money raised, he was able to also gift us with toys, games, multisensory items for the clinic, as well as a Netflix gift card.

Thank you Nelson and our partners @MississaugaFES for all that you’ve done to put a smile on our littlest patients’ faces.
