@tayz2017 Is there an argument to say Gstaad was more ready for Newmarket than they let on? Big reduction in margin with the 2nd today (albeit wrong side of track last time). I don’t think it can be argued beating P Avenue by 4l is better form than his Newmarket run. Only an opinion tho
@ouijaboard00@HagTag9801 I watched that interview at the time and thought he’d be able to convince them. That was before the two AOB colts shat the bed though. Appleby’s doesn’t look to have trained on either. I really hope they go for it, but I’d undertand if they took the G2 as RA is the main stage.
@ouijaboard00@HagTag9801 Cements a place at stud with an RA G1 win. Surely they will throw the dice at what looks a pretty dire race all told. Owners spend plenty so it would be a big return on investment if Saber the Commonwealth.
@kellard_ I did think that but with the opposition looking a little thin I thought they might go for the G1. The jersey would probably be more suitable tbf
@abracing0 Got stuck slightly in the run too. Is it too late to supplement a Hare for him in the Queen Anne? He’d have won a good few more than his 5 G1s if he’d had a pace maker in to sort the wheat from the chaff and clear some running room for him.
@RacingGav Intersting one isn’t it. Reminds me of the saying “if you truly love somebody you should set them free”. Hendo has helped nurture some fine trainers too. Shame nobody has felt confident enough to branch out of Clossutton and go it alone I guess.
Paul N getting plenty flack, but what is clear (with Derham being the latest to win a G1) is that he must be a sensational mentor/leader. So much human talent has passed through Ditcheat and that can’t be an accident. The best leaders help employees grow. He has done that in
@DanielMasterton What’s happened to Wild Desert? I thought he was pretty unlucky against both Pacific Avenue and Saba Desert. He was also very, very unlucky in Canada. The secretadversary complimented that Woodbine form fto this year in Ireland.
A timely reminder that giving it the big one can always come back you haunt you. As it is 12 year old Edwardstone has won more Grade 1s this year than Marine Nationale.

@joshtoole91 When you watch the race back he is in a terrible spot at the first bend. Winner had a lovely position and Harry couldn’t really have picked a worse spot to be (not his fault with all the shenanigans at the start and a huge field).
@ciaranodeorain@simonsanders1 Absolutely. He probably improved for a step up to 3m on paper (for ratings purposes), but very few animals are at there peak at 9. Most are at 7. Ratings over 3m plus are always higher. SS is a bit of an exception to that particular rule.
@SamCaney@RiskForRewards 100%. Would love to see more kept in training for many a year. I have always loved Al Aasy and Hamish. They’ve been around more than most jumpers now !
