JAM Implementer Teams - the automated fuzzer to test JAM implementations is now accessible here: https://t.co/FtwdMKPzsc
Please note that you will need to register and be approved, and need ~ 0.5 DOT to use it. Also please note that this is only for JAM implementer teams.
If all is successful, you can attest on-chain and then set up an interview with the Polkadot Technical Fellowship.
See the "Let's JAM" channel on Matrix ( #jam:https://t.co/5wtOqhdkd9 ) for more details.
POLKADOT'S 2026 IS LOOKING GOOD
@Polkadot's $DOT has had a genuinely eventful start to 2026, and the catalysts are structural rather than speculative.
Three developments stand out...
(1) FIRST-EVER US SPOT ETF: 21Shares launched the first US spot Polkadot ETF on March 6, 2026, trading on Nasdaq under the ticker $TDOT, seeded with $11 million and carrying a 0.3% management fee.
(2) HARD SUPPLY CAP: A tokenomics upgrade in March 2026 introduced a hard cap on DOT issuance, giving the token a max supply of 2.1 billion.
(3) POLKADOT HUB IS LIVE: Polkadot Hub, the network's unified L1 application platform, is now live, simplifying dApp development by integrating core functionalities across system chains and supporting both EVM and the new RISC-V-based PVM.
Despite a 90%+ price decline from its 2021 peak, Polkadot is still very much alive and kicking.
The price hasn't caught up yet. The question is whether it will.
Another year of building.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to build, question, govern, and continuously improve.
2026 is about turning foundations into products.
Happy New Year to the Polkadot community around the world.
Why Polkadot is great for government and enterprise web3 adoption 👇
Scalability for public services 🏦
Polkadot is capable of securing 140,000+ TPS at 23% capacity 👀
High TPS allows governments to support large-scale citizen services (voting, payments) without bottlenecks
Why is USDC Flowing to Polkadot?
The influx of USDC liquidity onto Asset Hub right now reflects preparation, not speculation.
Liquidity Preparation for Smart Contracts
Developers and protocols will soon be able to deploy EVM-compatible smart contracts directly on @Polkadot. To power dApps, DeFi tools, marketplaces, staking products, and on-chain payments, you need liquid, stable assets. That’s where USDC comes in.
Circle and ecosystem participants are pre-positioning USDC on Asset Hub so that, once smart contracts go live, developers can:
- Instantly integrate stable payments into their dApps.
- Pair USDC with DOT, BTC, and other tokens for liquidity pools.
- Enable stable settlement for on-chain marketplaces.
Essentially: infrastructure first, liquidity second, apps third.
Circle’s Multi-Chain Expansion Strategy
Circle has been strategically deploying native USDC across major L1 and L2 ecosystems, including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, and now Polkadot. They’re aligning with Polkadot’s architecture because:
Asset Hub offers a native, trust-minimized environment (not a bridged version). Smart contracts will unlock new payment and DeFi use cases. Polkadot’s shared security ensures the asset is secure at the base layer, making it attractive for institutions.
In short, Circle is setting up shop early so that USDC is available on Day 1 for builders and users.
Treasury and Ecosystem Readiness
Several ecosystem teams, parachains, and Treasury initiatives will likely rely on stablecoins for:
- Grant payouts and bounties.
- Treasury accounting in stable value instead of DOT.
- On-chain service payments and dApp UX improvements.
So, pre-loading liquidity ensures a smooth transition once the smart contract layer is live, with no lag between infrastructure and usability.
Bridging & Exchange Gateways
Banxa and other fiat on/off-ramp providers are integrating with Asset Hub, allowing users to soon buy or withdraw USDC directly on Polkadot, thereby bypassing Ethereum gas fees and intermediaries. Having liquidity already in place ensures these ramps work from day one.
In short, the surge of USDC into Polkadot’s Asset Hub is a strategic move ahead of the launch of smart contracts. It’s about ensuring:
✔️Builders have stable liquidity to power dApps.
✔️Users can transact in a familiar, low-volatility currency.
✔️The ecosystem is ready for real-world use cases the moment Polkadot Hub smart contracts launch.
The numbers speak for themselves 👇
• 1,526,324 accounts migrated
• 1.63B DOT moved
• 53,407 stakers
• 283 MB of data
• All in 8h 39m
The Asset Hub Migration is done.
No forks. No downtime. Pure on-chain execution.
@Polkadot just re-engineered itself mid-flight.
Huge congratulations to the team - this was a colossal success built on months of hard work 👏
Coherence > Fragmentation
Over 1.6B DOT (~$4.5B) will migrate from the Relay Chain to Asset Hub tomorrow.
Balances, staking, governance all follow.
This is the major step that unifies Polkadot’s core systems.
Polkadot originally split functionality across specialized system chains. That made sense architecturally but created fragmentation and thereby friction. Now it folds them back into one surface for usability: simplify first, scale later.
Relay Chain becomes invisible infra, serving only for consensus + security.
Asset Hub aka Polkadot Hub becomes the town square, where users, liquidity, and devs meet.
For builders, it’s easier to enter, access liquidity, reach early adapters, and iterate faster & cheaper.
For users, it hides the fragmented parts and gives a coherent UX for the basics.
For the market, there’s less to explain.
After the move:
→ a new home for balances, staking data, Treasury, and referenda
→ existential deposit drops from 1 to 0.01 DOT
→ fees decrease by 10X and can be paid in any token
→ DOT, USDC, USDT and all other assets share one space
→ native bridging to Ethereum included
You don’t need to do anything
Your funds and staking move automatically.
This migration clears the path for JAM, where the Relay Chain becomes silent infra and the network scales outward from a coherent core.
Polkadot has upgraded to version 2.0 today!
Tomorrow, the Hub migration will run automatically to prepare the first stage of the Hub launch. Then in a month we will have smart contracts launching in stage 2.
The migration itself will likely be very boring to watch from the outside. It will run for a few hours. Just 5 billion dollars casually and trustlessly moving from one chain to another.
Hong Kong is a massive hub for crypto. Polkadot is committed to building our community here 🤝
Today, Ken Kappler of @paritytech & @Web3foundation and Vincent Chan of @PolkaPort_East came together to demonstrate Polkadot's commitment in HK at the OASES signing ceremony.
