I am super happy to be here at #ForestSAT24 in Rotorua (🇳🇿). Friendly people, amazing (red)woods, intersting geothermal smells, and great talks. Today I had the pleasure to present our work on citizen-science for improved forest monitoring.

#EGU24 kicked off in #Vienna - a homerun for our group, as always. This year, we're prominently featured in session BG9.2, focusing on RS for forest applications. Drop by and say hi Wednesday! 👋👇https://t.co/sibVkYHHlM
Last week, Christoph, Katharina and Timon ventured into the forest for their Bachelor and Master Theses. Equipped with tape measures, water levels, meter sticks, (smartphone) cameras, and a laser scanner, we embarked on a comprehensive forest measurement expedition 🌳📷📏
Spring is prime time for laser scanning! 🌱 Before the leaves unfurl, we're supporting our colleagues from @BOKUvienna in Upper Austria. We are on the hunt for ash trees resilient against dangerous fungi threatening ash tree populations. 🌳

@EURAC, @TU_Muenchen, @unieichstaett, and @photo_TUW
shared insights into their research.

The last 2 days I was @KITKarlsruhe for a workshop on 'Leaving a Mark: Onsite – On Surface - Online'
I gave a talk and a live demo on #photogrammetry in #culturalheritage sciences. The reactions proved to me that digital techniques are still underexploited in cultural sciences
Today we were in the forest testing our new @RIEGL laserscanner and other equipment. Also we were taking lots of in-situ measurements of various tree parameters. Stay tuned for some nice results ✨🌲🔴
Everyone please come to European Researchers Night @exploREsearchAT in Vienna and visit 4x @geodepartment of @tu_wien, we will be there until tonight midnight! Location: Angewandte, Vordere Zollamtsstraße 7, 1030 Austria
