I am emeritus Principle Lecturer in Community Health Policy at the University of East London. I am interested in changes to the NHS and population health.
The Times front page news today tells us that the Chief Nursing Officer has written to the RCN worried about tomorrow. Why pick on tomorrow. Has a letter also been sent to the Government about the other 365 days with 50,000 nurses vacancies. #NHSDissolution.
Chris Ham (BMJ 2021;375:n2587) talks of "constrained capacity" and that "care is no longer possible." in the NHS. Normal care is being suspended at many hospitals and staff under increasing stress. Are we witnessing the #NHSDissolution
@PHE_London @ProfKevinFenton Congratulations to @ProfKevinFenton on your new role.

"We try not to eat a lot in one day, even though most of us are really hungry."
Almost 1 in 3 children in the UK are now growing up poor, like Cameron and his two sisters whose family rely on a food bank to help fill the fridge.
Thank you Phil @PHILVEASEY and Emily @EmilyAhmed_ for the creative and informative session yesterday with the UEL @UEL_News Public Health Students.@PublichealthM#publichealth. The students will develop maps to show social prescription available to a sample of GPs in Newham.
@IHM_tweets@RoyLilley A useful session. Primary Care is in safe hands. Useful too was the off agenda item (it is always the case) hearing about the constructive support work by @NHSwomen.
βOver last 50 years the time an average college student spends studying fell from 24 hrs per week to 11 and 1 in 4 study for less than 5 hrs per week. Students say they have 30-90 hrs available. Success is highly correlated to number of hrs spent studyingβ https://t.co/gss3XriogP
