May 17, 1990 was the day the WHO declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. Despite that monumental decision, LGBTQIA+ people still regularly face violence and discrimination. It is up to all of us to help eliminate homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia.

The conversation I had today with a student-athlete reminded me just how vital ATs are as facilitators through our healthcare system, ie. coordinating appts/follow-ups, explaining doctors notes/evals, making sense of insurance, highlighting the bigger picture, etc. #Essential

One of the hardest lessons I learned was that I do not have to be humble all the time. Being humble all the time will have you missing opportunities because you did not speak up about your skills & accomplishments. There are times to be humble & times to hype yourself up.
